Hi

In short I´m new to the game and noticed that there are 2 expansin packages in Steam.
Do I miss something if I buy just Brave nw world?
Tried to find from Steam and Civ 5 homepage with zero result.

...does BNW improve AI? It seems quite erratic in vanilla.

You'll miss out on 10 scenarios and 16 civs

What?

If you purchase JUST BNW you miss out on

3 scenarios, 8/9 civs

You will miss out on

1. Empire of the Smoky Skies (Steampunk themed scenario)
2. Into the Renaissance (Medieval themed scenario)
3. Fall of Rome (Fall of Rome themed scenario)

and the following civs

1. Austria
2. The Celts
3. Carthage
4. Byzantium
5. The Huns
6. The Maya
7. Sweden
8. The Netherlands

If you lack the Double Civ Pack, you will also miss out on Spain (which is included in God and Kings)

If you purchase BNW you will however get Statue of Zeus and Ethiophia (which is also in God and Kings)

Alas, purchasing the Gold Edition gets you every DLC and G&K (and Vanilla).

Can you play normally as Ethiopia without G&K? I figured they were restricted to the scenario.

Considering it's way cheaper to go for the gold edition upgrade anyway, it's not a big deal to just grab all the DLC at once for a good price.

I hate to sound like an advert, but you aren`t complete without both. In other words, you don`t get the full benefit\experience of the game, although you get the bad bits too, unfortunately.

I was counting the DLCs

You can get by with just BNW since all of the game mechanics are in it. A lot of the G&K civs are really fun to play though so I'd recommend getting it too.
