What basically happened in both:
-As Persia I got as far as Egypt (having taken Mesopotamia and Palestine) before stopping. Had a few world wonders built. I suppose I should confess that all but the very last of my conquests were done with Immortals.
-As the Inca, I ran into a French caravel with my exploring scout on the northern coast of South America and that somehow got a lot of French units to spawn inside my territory. I successfully kicked them out (though it helped that the city the French captured declared independence), and then I ended up just 1075 gold short of victory. Gosh darn it.
Just felt like mentioning it here.
