Weird bug

I have taken to playing civ2 again. I have the chronicles version of it, though in my country it was not sold under that name; I applied that patch required for 64 bit OS, since I have windows 7 64bit, and I also installed an appropriate video codec to see all videos. Everything seems to be working fine, except that, whenever a unit of mine is killed, I get a strange report that makes the "wonder sound", that little piece of music that plays when anyone completes a wonder... It becomes anoying, even though it doesn't alter the gameplay. Can anyone help?

That's quite odd to hear. I can't think of a reason that would happen. Sounds like you need to contact the Sid Meier team.
