As long as this continues, it hardly matters what U2 does.

Sorry about this guys but Real life can sometimes interfere with Civ !

I've now got my Broadband connection back and hopefully everything will be ok in future.

I'm sorry for my recent absence, RL and getting ready to go on a trip for the next week and a half or so, I've queued up moves, but I dont have a replacement, so if I'm the only one slowing the turns down, then feel free to kick me to the AI.

quick update:

Ok, I decided to simply give control over to the AI for the time I'm gone, because I don't want the turn timer hanging up, plus I'm at a point where simply queuing up moves would be worse than AI control, because builds will be finishing and stuff like that. I'll be back and retaking control sometime next thursday or friday-ish... Sorry for not leaving some advanced notice.

Being my 1st Pitboss game, how do you guys talk to eachother in the game ? Via email? What's the best way to talk diplomacy?

thanks

It has come to my attention that at least one player is not using CivStats for messages.

Please note that messages sent using Tab, Shift+Tab and Ctrl+Tab are not saved in the game. This method of communication may only be used if both players are on-line at the same time.

AFAIK most players are using CivStats for messages.

To create a CivStats account sign up here: http://www.civstats.com/login.php

Then you need to register for the game.

Once logged in select The Iliad from the list of games and click on Register your Leader! near the top.

Register using the password that you were given when the game was set up.

If any player has lost this password or if there are any other questions please email or PM me.

One player's connection hung onto the game after they left the game resulting in the use of more bandwidth than usual.

This happens from time to time and the conventional wisdom is that it is casued by players exiting from the game directly rather than to the main menu.

Each time this occurs I need to restart the server, which I have had to do several times over the last few days. As commented on by another this is the bane of pitboss hosts everywhere.

Please help by ensuring that when you leave the game you exit to the Main Menu first rather than leaving directly.

They met their creater Maydrock, that's what happens when u neglect your defence and go for an early wonder :trouble:

Cheers guys - looks like I'm done.

I blame the bears. But the bears eating Russia... that's funny, and I can appreciate that.

(TWICE a bear ate my settler+warrior escort - once on a forest... :( )
