Civ4 Map Editor

Why Civ4 have not a map editor like Civ3?

There is one about i don't know?

You can try searching in the Civ4 Creation and Customization --> Tutorial and Guides forums.

Apart from that you'd need to edit your maps in the Worldbuilder that comes with the game.

It does have a map editor - techincally.

Start a new game, and press CTRL-W to get into worldbuilder. I believe you can save the world builder file. You can edit the world builder file in notepad.

There are a few simple map editors in the Creation & Customization forum (the best one requires the .net 2.0 platform I believe, so you need to download a huge file from Microsoft).

The one I use (YAME) only requires MS Excel. Might even work on OpenOffice.

I use YAME as well to get the basic terrain and outline in place. If using warlords simply save the file with the warlords extension instead of the vanilla civ 4 extension.
