I have now seen one of these, it was a animated but I have my speakers muted so I can't comment.
These are getting obnoxious (before anyone says it I do have abp but the Opera version doesn't get the ones on CFC, until now it never bothered me).

I'm supprised the Admins on this site have not touched this issue. :-/

I haven't experienced a single pop up ad as of yet.

*knocks on wood*

Just started getting this crap here in England today. Any plans to get rid? This is a serious turn off for these forums.

Nothing so far Down Under. Oh you Northerners and your advertisement problems. :p

Also:

To be honest, ads are much less annoying than some categories of (let's stay polite) people spamming in another sub-forum...

What does that have to do with anything?

i've had that bloody xbox ad for the past week.

..and your telling me the only way i can get rid of it - is by downloading third party software? WTF?!

STOP THIS MADNESS

That ad is especially annoying as it starts unmuted.

But it removes revenue from the site, I choose to allow the site to get money from my views, I would kinda hope that in return the most annoying ads could go.

They only get revenue if you click on the ads. But because of the obnoxious way the advertisers create their ads, I figure that they don't deserve my even loading them. If they did not use a ton of my bandwidth, I would have more patience with them.

Personally I think it is unreasonable that I have to use up my computer space to download some buggy ad blocker which will inevitably slow down my computer - just so i can browse one site uninterrupted.

SORT IT OUT THUNDER

Ad blockers aren't really buggy - admuncher is a phenomenal piece of software, and the various browser adblock extensions are mature now too, both easylist and fanboy's list are good.

And it's pretty impressive that cfc is the only site you visit with unacceptable ads, most sites do ads wrong.

Last year, CFC had a banner ad for what appeared to be a porno (maybe "soft core" porno?) site. That really ticked me off. That was when I installed AdBlock on my browser. Since that is the kind of judgement displayed about what kind of ads are appropriate, I ain't goin' back to not having them blocked!
