Hello,

Sorry if this has been asked before, but searching through the forum yielded no satisfactory results. Is there anyway to remove Haunted Land? I've tried the Orbis/RiFe tactics, but they don't seem to work (chop/Sanctify/Vitalize). Am I just stuck with having to resort to removal via World Builder?

using sanctify (life 1) with your adepts should do the work, but sometimes it takes many tries until it is removed.
 
are you sure they don't give unhealthiness?

The chance for removal must be ridiculously low then, as I have a horde of adepts autocasting Sanctify both around and on the actual tile for quite awhile now. Will keep trying I guess.

It provides 0.5 unhealthiness to nearby cities, unless the Pedia is lying. Also, it's a purple haze of ugliness. Must get rid of it.
 
I love haunted land, and the bit of aesthetic change it brings to the landscape.

Indeed, 2 commerce is much more valuable than 0.5 food.

Edit: okay, there are rare situations where this is ambiguous. But consider that it's twice the aristocracy conversion and 8/3 the unimproved specialist conversion (not counting great person points).
 
that depends, if you run a theocracy with altar of luonotar and some wonders that improve priests you get more out of food (1 Priest = 2 commerce + 4 hammers +3 Birthrate)

(my favorite economy btw, especially with elohim)

edit: nvm 1 priest requires 2 food so it would be 8 commerce to 1 priest

bad health does not necessarily equate to a loss of food.
 
I renamed the second sanctify spell to Lifeward (already planned that but forgot the change the txt_key). Sanctify currently does not remove haunted lands but will next version. Also Haunted lands will have a negative effect on living units who end their turn in haunted lands.

Is this done in < V8.34? Casting Sanctify seems to change nothing. =/
