Orions Mod Collection

hey OV, how's the mod coming along?

The standard version of Grand Inquisitions is complete. Testing revealled that the XML runs much faster in the standard version over WoC modules. Python will still be in WoC format. Mine Warfare still needs one python function to be developed for the Sweeper. The mod, which is near 400 mb in size, is very near completion. Testing will take a few days after the Python is finished. :)

Any update on how soon Grand Inquisitions will be released?

I knew it was time for another update. So here is the current progress:

I have fixed a multitude of bugs, while adding more resources and mod comps. Testing on Mine Warfare has been flawless after adding new python functions. The AI Mine Sweeper now hunts for mines. I know the mod completion is near as my list of last minute additions is dwindling. Since the last update I have done the following.

1. Fixed all problems with Archery Barrage.
2. Added 3 new buildings, including: The Bee Hive, the Skyscrapper, and the Hotel.
3. Added 3 new sea plot resources, including: Lobster, Kelp, and Pearls.
4. Added 7 new land plot resources, including: Apples, Coffee, Cotton, Lemons, Tea, Rubber and Tobacco.
5. Added 7 new Wonders, including: The Golden Gate Bridge, the Supreme Court, Copernicus, King Richard's Crusade, Vacation Resort, the World Bank and the Empire State Building.
6. Added a few new units, including: The Sheriff, The A4 Skyhawk, the A7 Corsair, the Early Carrier and the Modern Carrier.
7. Added Animals, including the Wild Boar, the Gorilla, and the Spider.
8. Added the Unofficial 3.19 patch for BTS.
9. Added Mountains back in service mod.
10. Compiled the SDK for a new working DLL.
11. Converted all XML to standard format (Found out XML in WoC format, really hurt overall game performance).
12. Countless attributes of the above have been tweaked for more realistic play.

Ongoing Projects:
1. I want to give Sweeper Units a promotion for a successful mine sweep.
2. I am going to add a 25 percent chance of getting a negative attitude adjustment point for any Civ, who suffers the lose of a unit from a mine.
3. I am looking at identifying a plot where a mine exploded, either by adding a new feature (The debree field) or by simple text.

In the mods current state, I played over 800 auto play rounds without a single error, which is another good indicator that the mod is almost finished. So you can see, I have been very busy. :whew:

I think another few days to wrap up the remaining tasks is all I will need before I release the final product.

I made some popup pictures for the Great Doctor. Not the best buy nice to have when you get a Great Doctor.

For Grand Inquisitions 255 and let me say Big Thankyou for all your hard work.

and if you can please can you add the Water Animals Mod to Grand Inquisitions 255
I try with CodeBlocks but at the end I get errors. or if you can make just the dll with
Water Animals Mod added in that help me alot.

I haven't been able to play it, the game crashes to the desktop.
Could you post details on how to install it, , what the different parts of the SDK are for, etc. The last item copied to the cache in the appdata/my games/ etc is the private map python.

I ran CivChecker against one version of Rise of Mankind and discovered well over 2000 graphical errors. OGO had 12, 4 of which are stock BTS errors. My next update will have 0, which includes the fixes for the stock BTS. It might be a day or two before I post the update as there were a couple of requests from Roamty I am looking into.

Please review the SDK mods in the summary list to find out what is included in OGI. As for the private map option, OGI includes it's own version of Smartmap, which helps to distribute the new Marsh terrain. You need to use it, when you first start up a new game.

Unless you unpacked the FPK files in RoM you will get far to many graphical errors because all those "missing" files are in the FPK. I ran a check on C2C myself, got lots of errors but looking at them I knew that the art did exist. Then I read the doco. It says it can't look inside the FPK files in the doco for CivChecker. Unfortunately CivChecker does not check for any Modules added to the mod.

Ah ha! I knew that number seemed excessively high. I am now working Roamty's request.

You will be happy to know that I have successfully added the Water Animals Mod into Grand Inquisitions ver 256. I was able to do it using only one python file. :smug: Expect it, when I release ver 256.

After careful consideration, I have come to the conclusion that King Richards Crusade is not realistic. The Crusader is an individual war fighter, not a siege unit (i.e. a machine or weapon). According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, "The Crusades were expeditions undertaken, in fulfilment of a solemn vow, to deliver the Holy Places from Mohammedan tyranny. " In other words, Crusaders do the work of Inquisitors, (i.e. purge cities of all non-state religions), only they do it by war. Therefore, I am going to redesign the Crusader to act as a war fighter and a unit that can purge all non-state religions from a captured city. The crusader will be much more powerful than an inquisitor. Thus, after capturing and purging a city, the crusader unit will not be deleted, as the Inquisitor is used up. This change will be far more historically correct and will give those who seek a religious victory, much more incentive to build the wonder.
