Speaking of esoteric knowledge, did you know that Submarines can move under the ice cap? I didn't even realize it until I asked one to move around a continent, and it went below the ice! :crazyeye:

They're invulnerable there. Nothing can enter the impassible ice other than planes, which can attack the sub, but not destroy it. I now use the ice as a staging ground for subs when near the poles, and enemy ships can't kill them.

Also, if you didn't know, Spies can conduct sabotage missions while on a sub (to destroy naval resources). Makes it much harder to maintain sea-based oil supplies than the land-based versions, as your pack of subs can wipe out any ships trying to escort work boats to the resource :)

Very nice, didn't know.
Anyway the sabotation of oil offshore is very funny. BTW have you ever noticed that whe u sabote many times the same resource the enemy tends to garrison the tile with three or four units? Pathetic :D

Sweet...nice info on this, especially the part on spies. I had seen the part about the ice caps in another thread and it works great to build a small fleet at both ends of the earth.

Great!:goodjob:

Something else I just found out. Submarines can can kill tanks. If you have a tank in an allied friendly city, enemy subs and other ships can attack and kill your tank, so watch out until they patch that :wow:
