Russia UHV bugged? or clarifications?

Hi!

So I had a great time normal/emperor. 5 vassals (Mali, Aztec, Inca, Mongols, Indonesia) to make them communists.. I did build a big railroad in time from Moscow all the way to Chengjin (Siberia tile) north Korea area in 1916... I was first for Manhattan+Apollo... then... dada... No UHVs updates! even the railroad one got failed!

1) Have any of you succeeded in building a railroad? Does all the railroad tiles need to be around a city for example (like a railway going through a city doenst count maybe?). What if some parts of the railroad go through a vassal does this uhv fail?

2) Friendly communists... So they were all 5 friendly and communists still no uhv update and even at 1955 (beyond 1950) it says uhv not completed yet!

thanks for all help!

Do you have a screenshot that shows your port city? Cities themselves count as part of the railroad by the way, you don't have to build around them.

Don't know what's wrong with your communist friends. In general a civ counts as communist if it runs either State Property or Supreme Council.

Maybe your savegame is the best way to figure it out.

Conquer Iberia as the Moors, dominate Asian trade as the Tamils, or resist colonization as the Kingdom of Kongo.

Thanks for quick reply Leo, I ll investigate it further.

I ll actualy restart and see if i can make city state russia work (so many cities in siberia work more or less 7 land tiles anyway). I might go bankrupt from number of cities tho. Any of you tried russia + city states?

No, America + city states is fun though. You also start with Egilatarianism and Representation, which is huge.

I hope you're aware that City States give a drastically reduced expansion penalty threshold?

Whatever, size 70 cities beat any expansion treshold

Does that count for cities or land? As America, 8 cities will suffice, but land is another thing...

It affects how many ahistorical tiles you can hold before you get a penalty.

I might change that though, large territory civs shouldn't run City States no matter if their territory is historical or not.

Well as America, you don't actually have to go outside your historical territory, you have enough it, so that does indeed require a change.
