Nedim is correct, it's about the Sassanid Empire, especially about Ardashir I.
The first and third paragraphs reference the complex power plays which plagued Empire, especially from after the 6th Century. The second references the names of most Achaemenid rulers, as the Sassanid dynasty was the first ''native'' empire in Persia since the Achaemenids after Hellenic and Parthian interludes. The fourth mentions the Aryans, who gave the name to the Iranians (Aryan --> Eran --> Iran), as well as Ahura Mazda (The Zoroastrian god, which underwent a revival during Sassanid history) and Arab sheiks - Muslim Arabs would eventually conquer the Sassanid Empire and bring about its downfall.
