TERRA maps are awesome now!

Finally... Terra maps are as fun as they should have been!

Before the patch, the AI would rarely colonize the new world, OR they would colonize it much later in the game, after the human player had already planted 4+ cities. In my current game post-patch, I sailed to the new world to discover Russia and France already having 2+ cities.

Still, I wish there were more of an incentive (new luxury resources only found on the new world for instance) to colonize, but now that the AI is going to the new world, it makes you have to compete, and as we all know, competition is what makes the game fun.

What other maps are more fun with a more expansive, cross-continental AI?

Ice Age - since its shallow water that separates landmasses on an Ice Age map on harder difficulties the AI will now colonize quite a lot of the map early on

This is great to hear, I remember being very disappointed being the only Civ in the new world when I played this map previously.

Perhaps the Polynesian UA will now mean something (on certain maps).

I thought the same when I read this post. Getting a whole continent for yourself for a while isn't to be made lightly.
