Experienced Scout Units

If I gift a scout to a civ or a city state, do they get his map knowledge?

Would be cool if the more of the world a scout had seen, the more valuable he was to other units - being able to kidnap enemy scouting units to get map information would be awesome at the start of the game.

I like the idea, early game at war, capture a scout a chance of a map reveal.
