Hello,
I am interested in playing hardcore Civ 5 multiplayer and do not yet own any copies of Civ5. Which packages should I buy and where to buy them from?

I only want to pay the bare minimum to play the latest version.

For example, Civ 5 + Gods and Kings + Brave New World.

When people refer to downloads, do they require $$$?

Thanks ahead. :p

Gold edition you find it. It's vanilla+G&K+dlcs. Some weeks, at summer sales, you could buy it for 8€. But now that offer ended, you may buy it for 20€

You would miss BWN, which I recommend for new players anyway, regardless of the cost.

2 friends bought civ5 recently and I am playing with them vanilla civ. having not played any civ game before, I think it's much better for them than playing with the expansions. After they learn the basics, then we will move to G&K and BNW

Also,in BNW warmongering is nerfed, so I'm actually having fun playing vanilla in multiplayer with them ^^

In MP it is much easier to find games if you have all the XP and DLC, their for I would highly recommend Civ5 Gold Edition, plus BNW. Otherwise you are forcing other players to not have civ's they might want, and that might not get you invited back to games :-/
