a lightweight discussion of WW2 aerial ops and the like

... not all Americans are jerks basking under their "own no-doubt stupendous" glory ; they actually read history .

human beings are imperfect . We are much given to futile senses and desires . In regard to an overwhelming urge to be the greatest when it comes to standing among each other . The Democracies of Europe -just as the 20th Century dawned- awash in money and comfort , influence and power , reality and fantasy with regards to capability , could look back at the Hundred years that almost passed since that shortish Corsican with genuine pride , only to find even more reason to be boastful about . The ride was good . So good that the ominious projections about the rise of new powers could be disregarded with remarkable ease ; so good that the exact same formula offered for a hundred years more . Many , far too many , people would like to re-arrange the landscape as their ancestors had done in 1815 . Not in the same exact mold , but the same exact spirit to keep going . Simply as an almost obvious example , simply because people would know it to be true that Winston Churchill would have liked to be at the table , making it happen , just giving order to world in the way he would have lusted after a woman .

see , 2014 follows 1914 only because there was a 1814 .

when Napoleon fell only to rise and fall again ; when the following destruction of the Spanish Colonial Empire did much to cement the idea of "The Atlantic" whereby the British Capitalism could be assured of only measured competition from North America and that in turn scared the Continental Europeans into even more submission into the indescribable reach and unmatchable might of the Royal Navy . Leading to India becoming the Jewel of the Crown and China humbled . The world maps were the testament to White Man's superiority simply because all White Men had to sing from the Hymn Book of the British who had the oceans . Oh the Atlantic , something a lot of otherwise smart brains tend to identify as infallible ; an adjective most people of Faith would associate only with God .

in 1914 there had to be a war , for there was to be real battles where men died and going through all that would take time and the troops could be home only by Christmas . And 1915 would see the rise of a new world , new yet old . Come 2015 and anyone that might have been fed up with the Brits running the world would only dirty their underwear involuntarily with a glimpse at the history books . And the glorious account how London simply made its enemies vanish in some "the Greatest Feat of Arms" ever . It had taken a hundred days to bring Napoleon to his knees , while the planning talked of 30 to knock the Ottomans of centuries .

and the French were not offended at the background offered as such in the prelude to Entente Cordiale , for from bitter experience they knew Britannia ruled the waves . If London brought its back into it , there could be nothing at all to destroy Germany and scare the Russians and intimidate the Americans and knock the caps from the Chinese heads . Or else . Else in the sense London might once again turn the head away as Prussians marched into Paris .

the feeling of power is intoxicating , such power as the British were displaying in 1900 or thereabouts is downright poisonous . Boers ? Got hemmed into Concentration Camps and the world saw how many ribs some blonde Afrikaneer girl under 10 would have on her deathbed . No doubt the photography of the day was not advanced enough to show the ribs of some black African girl whom the Afrikaneers themselves were starving but then this not the topic right now ...

at least back in the day , it seems historians have attributed a keen sense of foreisight to Admiral Fisher for he apparently deduced Germany would go to war as soon as they completed the Kiel Canal by late 1914 . Yeah , right is the correct answer to that ...

1914 was more a than a figure on the calendar ; it grew larger and larger .

it's more likely Fisher was all for pushing Berlin into war , before they actually finished the canal . To make maximum use of the British advantage on the Seas . Even if he had himself made it impossible for an early decisive clash by avoding a close blockade of the German shorelines ; to which Germans responded by staying in port . Going around in the North Sea while waiting for the RN to mass in massive numbers was not something German Admirals could bring themselves to do . Sailors were at least at "home" in Christmas ...

even if Fisher's fellow conspirator , Churchill is a bit more to blame . Not exactly his fault that London decided against waiting until Russians were supposed to complete their railroads to the Prussian borders ; 1916 was too late exactly , for the centennary of the fall of the Tyrant -that Corsican , the short dude ... The spell of the number 100 was too much to wait any longer , the pressure down in the nether regions was too hurting if you deign to remember the "would have lusted" line above in this post ... Lots of young and youngish men in London with unfallibility those days . However , Churchill's faults -though little misdemenours as they were- added into some colossal blunders . To be fair London ruled an empire that had large number of "Moslems" ; the planned total destruction of the Ottomans was sure to be problematical with public reaction from Egypt to Malaysia and perhaps it was "legal" for Churchill to push us into war . But then it was not 1910 anymore ... The Balkan Wars had utterly devastated the country , in the heady days of final days of the "Peace" it could have been possible to leave us aside for 1915 , the spectacular success against the Germans could have been justification enough for the Moslems to see Caliphate saved from the clutches of German spies and such , better known as Ittihad ve Terakki .

it was not to be . A certain kind of Turkish hysteria was already famous even then . Winston Churchill accepted the Ottoman purchase of an half finished Brazilian Dreadnought , continuation of contracts previously signed and did nothing to delay their construction while he might have done -with complete ease . The "lust" thing , Winston wanted us to beg . If not more ... With 1914 cast solid , with war coming , Churchill aimed for maximum effort . Waiting for the first ship to be complete with Turkish crew ready to sail and really rare in the annals of history that a ship to be taken over by the builder country in peacetime . With blood split . Churchill didn't get his satisfaction . We couldn't dare go to war ; even in the face of obvious piracy . With the expected Turkish idiocy not forthcoming London had to save face somewhat with offer of a 1000 pound Sterlings a day for the duration the ships were to remain in British service , on condition that the German Military Commission in Istanbul to be sacked and sent back to Germany . Couldn't happen with Enver in charge ; was to cover up the proceeding and get ahead in the blame game . Luckily real history doesn't report the even tastier stuff : In which the Brits would keep us paying 1000 pounds a day if we were to pay it first . An alternative to that has the idea that 1000 a day was on , if we paid back 100 a day to personal accounts . So , to meet the risk from Britain that was certainly out for blood , we had to pay real money to insult Germany . The only possible ally left to us .

still not enough for Churchill ; war was on and he wanted us in . The result would be ambigious orders to the RN with regards to Goeben and Breslau , with secret orders extremely explicit and the request to the Italian port authorities for all kinds of courtesies . The British Fleet lost the Germans on their way to Istanbul , but then what right did we have to expect any use from the naval might of London ? Sounds delusional ? With smoke seen where there is no fire ? Got to be a national characteristic . Don't know if Michael Bay reads CFC , but this pirate TV series of him and his colleagues has a Mr. Turk in some crew who thinks his captain is a vampire or some sort of demon under the control of witches and stuff and everybody has been laughing at him for years for such nonsense . No , ı don't watch it but was unaware that it had replaced Dexter for the 23.00-24.00 slot , a couple of months back ...

the power of Prediction , the confidence that arises from knowing that it has happened and will happen again ... You might be surprised if you trust that too much . Moriquendi changed the location of a city and founded two others ! One on my continent , some 10 tiles down my Southern borders ...

but then how real is that ? That being Winston Churchill being Winston Churchill wanted to be the Alexander of the 20th Century and he was already late in the game , getting old , putting weight and losing hair ? "Losing attraction" for the dozens of queens he was supposed to conquer along with their realms , with a happy marriage nonetheless ? Nothing much compared to Patton though . After the Great War began "... Patton thought, America would have to get into it sooner or later. And better sooner than later. On November 11, 1914, his twenty-ninth birthday, Patton wrote his papa: “I certainly am aging. ... I fixed twenty-seven as the age when I should be a brigadier and now I am twenty-nine and not a first Lieutenant.” His hair was even thinning." Churchill was at least in the Cabinet , right ?

the internet is full of books , just like libraries are . At times ı envy the Ancients ; even in 1000 A.D. would it have been possible for one guy to know everything put in books ? Even things that seemingly oppose what he thinks he knows ? ı have this book that actually suggests Churchill was not into the wholesale destruction of the Ottoman Empire but was compelled into it ... And a few words on the book might also be useful here . For ı think ı read it in Turkish some 20 years ago . A start-up newspaper was giving books for garnering audience , you would buy the newspaper for fifteen days , daily collecting the numbered coupons and voila , you had a book . Called the "New Century" the newspaper had a decidedly "liberal" outlook ; ı remember they would do all kinds of tricks in order to call the seperatists anything but the Terrorists like every other paper sold in my city would be doing . A nice effort in the prelude to the Liberal activities that provided so much legitimacy to this New Turkey ...

ı even remember the TV ads they took for weeks before their first issue . With much talk about the pregnant belly on screen -with no reference to what they were selling . Not as nude as Demi Moore on the cover of Vogue or Harper's or whatever but it was decidedly unseen in Turkey until then . Later her face was also shown , too . ı think she was a runway model and ı sincerely hope that her child is not anything like this New Turkey , a whining braggart pulling anybody around down .

and the book ı remember reading was just a primer of what was to come . Speaking with hindsight ... For ı was only confused with the divergence with the history that ı had learned at school , don't think ı got anything "useful" or "illuminating" 20 years ago . That the fall of the Ottoman Empire was almost solely the fault of Turks , with -say- Britain only reacting to the failures of Ittihad and botching it all (a complete disaster actually) by a failure to understand the people of the Middle East . Who were Religious , period . Am re-reading the electronic version while writing the recent posts but can see or at least ı can imagine the impact - not of this book's or the newspaper's but of the entire campaign of the "different notions" on the coming generation of the youth who would embrace the Yuppy ideals and make-believe dedication to change . Yes , ı have a right to call it a campaign , however small that right (to call it so) can be ...

accordingly , there was a growing belief among any "thinkers" that the nation-state was itself wrong without any redeemable features .

uhmm , no . There's no such thinking ; the thinkers are just grass bending to the wind as long as they keep their whatever advantage ... It's just business when one gets in any group where he / she can be an opinion leader , some to sway and rule the masses . And yes , it's indeed true that "ideas" like religions or various notions ending in -isms have swept the world , sometimes so quick that people are still amazed . But the thing is , all influence of "Change" depends on an appreciation of what the opinion leaders get from change . New opinion leaders can offer new deals to surpress the old ones -by increased profits for other leaders who follow the ones the new ones intend to replace . As such a mental prepation (of the field before) can make it more cost effective so that new deals offering a higher percentage of the loot can be shown as a new light on facts ...

as such , this book that has gotten me into this particular rant was not written in 1989 in English to topple the evil nationalistic militarist Turkish State ; it rather aimed at the masses in the Middle East with access to such books . And with a need to look for new masters in the balancing game people are so prone to play ; with the Berlin Wall falling . Russians no more , America to swept all opposition into nothingness ... So , the book pontificates , so greatly at times , that the State of Israel and the horrors afterwards were not a British design , but an accident ... Even that was a Turkish crime if not failure that the Arabs suffered so much at the hands of Tel Aviv after Britain was unable to provide englightened governance ... Our fault in our strict refusal to have our carcass raped after we were raped and killed ; by prolonging the -ing Great War and having Empires attrite each other to death .

russians have asked only one thing , those who care , that if it comes to WW III , we should be 1914 , not 1939 . Doesn't matter which side , '39-45 was worse .

and of course the thinkers of Turkey would know the all the "Not so!" phrases of the book are supposed to be "Of course!" when it comes to Turkey . Thinkers are so conspitorial , always and everywhere . Despite their protests to the contrary . Say , the newlies of Turkey are so primed at the calls that they are proxies for America , that the new Turkey is a Trojan horse -and luckily yet a failure to become a battering ram- to destroy the borders in the Middle East and slated to be culled , specifically when that new 'stan is "undisputably" feasible . They , naturally , enough can not dare to be too vocal about their opposition to American interests -in the unlikely case that such an opposition actually exists . When the Colonial Governor in Ankara asks "Say what?" there is much talk in the papers and on the air-waves and nothing in reality . As such their only recourse can be renumerating how worse the Kemalists were or are .

which leads to everlasting descriptions of how the Old Republic was a British plot to destroy the Ottoman Empire and steal the Caliphate and create a Communist mindset in Turkey under Capitalism . This week or the last there was some argument about how Menderes was not a man of America . Had he been , America would have saved him . The proof for that being ? The day after the coup some officials were sent to the American Embassy to ask for money so that wages could be paid ; to the tune of 50% of the money in State coffers on the day . America would say jump and Menderes would walk free . But it is always so clear that -say- even Inönü was a British asset .

so , why didn't America save Menderes ? In 1960 , Ike was a lame duck yet much concerned about his Vice President who could win the elections to turn the US to such an exaggerated Right Wing position . The loss of the U-2 that month had signified the Russians were "coming along nicely" ; might embolden them . Could be trouble vis-a-vis the change-over in the custodianship of the European Colonialism . For Brits had been doing so well in their colonies that America had lost interest in forcing the issue in the sense they had forced French out of Vietnam . Which in itself was proving to be a prime candidate for a battle zone that could bleed America white . Ike had worked so hard to prevent that -with solemn promises that Peoples' voice would be respected and had been convincing enough in 1958 the Communists had given up the "struggle" for the South and their active campaigning in Laos was solely meant to create a buffer zone for the North -something that would be still in place even in 1975 , funnily enough . Ike was that great a man . He was also busy talking sense to the Klan ; it would be so awful for America to fight a second Civil War on its 100th anniversary . In any case , Menderes was "not really up to it in 1960" , his attempt to go to early Elections was not much liked by his own power base -didn't much like the idea of an election they might have easily lost ; yet couldn't give up . Hence they on their own covered the signs of the "discontent" and preparations for the intervention . When Menderes was hanged in 1961 (after Ike went) he was quickly painted into a some sort of a saint which ensured the rapid return of "his base" to power as soon as there were elections . In any case ı won't say anything good about the JFK Administration unless am seriously pressed to . Haven't yet seen anything that pressing .

as far as ı can talk about my ideas on the subject , in consideration of the language barrier that nicely covers me being a fool , the book or a couple of its kind wouldn't convert anybody in Turkey to be for the New , merely added a "proof" for the talking that would wear down opposition : With "Academic Responsibility" enough to never shirk from pointing out the mistakes of the British ; making any claims about our mistakes and failures real , "undisputably real" ... Some British guy unafraid to call his Motherland so and so ; his word about Turkey then must be absolutely true .

and how he avoids the ire of the NATO ally , Kemalist-Militarist-Racist Turkey by adding something of a "So-called" description to the Armenian stuff ; he is still uncapable to discuss it as "real" in 2009 ... From the tone , one readily gets "it" happened . Which then naturally makes further claims as related to Turkey also "real" .

The Ottomans never entirely outgrew their origins as a marauding war band. They enriched themselves by capturing wealth and slaves; the slaves, conscripted into the Ottoman ranks, rose to replace the commanders who retired, and went on to capture wealth and slaves in their turn. Invading new territories was the only path they knew to economic growth. In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries, when the conquests turned into defeats and retreats, the dynamic of Ottoman existence was lost; the Turks had mastered the arts of war but not those of government.

something you can't get the newlies to say , but as said the book's intended audience is kinda browner compared to us Turks . Ottomans can not ever actually "deserve" a leadership of Islam in any capacity , "afterall" ...

Claiming that the Sultan’s regime was “a bottomless pit of fraud and falsehood,” Gladstone, in his 1880–5 administration, washed Britain’s hands of the Ottoman involvement, and the British government withdrew its protection and influence from Constantinople.

not only proves that it wasn't Turks who were still there some 800 years after Malazgirt but Britain . And yet a corollary of our defeat at the then recent catastrophic defeat at the hands of the Russians . There wasn't much left for Britain to prop against the Russians , right ? And such a catch-phrase that ı will have it etched in minuscule font on an outer plate of 1704 . 1705 gets 'A land of make-believe' from "Gertrude Bell, an experienced English traveler in Middle Eastern lands, [who] was ... to write, “No country which turned to the eye of the world an appearance of established rule and centralized Government was, to a greater extent than the Ottoman Empire, a land of make-believe.”"

Ottoman officials continued to pretend, for example, that Bulgaria formed part of the empire long after losing control of that territory in 1878, and counted Egyptians as among its subjects even after Britain occupied Egypt in 1882. For this and other reasons, Ottoman statistics were unreliable, and it is only in the roughest sense that we can say that the empire’s population in the early twentieth century may have been about twenty to twenty-five million, in a territory—depending on how it is defined—about six times the size of Texas. It comprised, broadly speaking, most of the Arabian peninsula and what is now Turkey, Israel, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, and Iraq.

ottoman was no European-Middle Eastern State ; was only Middle Eastern . Nicely omits "in the early twentieth century" we had shores in the Adriatic or something . And has a purpose , but not exactly clear to the author in all probability . This relentless preparation for the engineering of the Browner people of the Middle East , the Ottoman Empire is the way for the transformation of Asia Minor so that it can be fully exploited and its people discarded after use ... The Muslim Brotherhood has shown immense friendliness to the New Turkey , there was some bragging last year or early this that 6000 of them died in "peaceful" demonstrations so that Ankara could save the Innocent from evil Esad . Afterall it's so easy to save Brothers from Godless Alawites when America bombs Godless Alawites skyhigh . The lack of bones around where one would expect a spine in Uncle Sam hurts them Newlies .

uhhmm , don't believe that either . It proves America can't anymore , but the Newlies are so brave and courageous and world class and reason for anybody to fear the New Turkey ; with accounts of how the world now plots to overthrow them yet fails . Mursi in all probality will never have to explain why he was beginning to issue commands in "Turkish" .

"Young Turks” came to mean any brash group of young people with dynamic ideas who rebel against an outmoded leadership. They were viewed with sympathy by the Foreign Office in London, but were disliked and disdained in the British embassy in Constantinople. The ambassador, Sir Gerard Lowther, seems to have fallen completely under the influence of Gerald FitzMaurice, his First Dragoman, or official interpreter and adviser on oriental affairs; and FitzMaurice detested the C.U.P. almost from the very outset.

FitzMaurice’s interpretation of the events of 1908 was colored by the fact that they had occurred in Salonika, about half of whose 130,000 inhabitants were either Jews or Dunmehs (members of a Jewish sect that had converted to Islam in the seventeenth century). Salonika was also a city in which there were Freemason lodges. Emmanuel Carasso (or Karasu), a Jewish lawyer, had founded an Italian Freemason lodge in which he apparently allowed Talaat’s secret society to meet when it was in hiding from the Sultan’s secret police. FitzMaurice concluded that the C.U.P. was a Latin-influenced international Jewish Freemason conspiracy; and Lowther duly reported this to the Foreign Office in London. Lowther referred to the C.U.P. as “the Jew Committee of Union and Progress.”

it might be remembered that this was the official Libyan position in CFC once .

The Young Turks, he claimed, were “imitating the French Revolution and its godless and levelling methods. The developments of the French Revolution led to antagonism between England and France, and should the Turkish revolution develop on the same lines, it may find itself similarly in antagonism with British ideals and interests.”

In his detailed report of more than 5,000 words, Lowther alleged that Jews had taken over a Freemason network (“The Oriental Jew is an adept at manipulating occult forces…”) and through it had taken control of the Ottoman Empire. Amongst the ringleaders of the Jewish Freemason conspiracy, according to Lowther, was the U.S. ambassador to Turkey, Oscar Straus, whose brothers owned the New York department stores Macy’s and Abraham & Straus.

The danger to England, wrote Lowther, is that “The Jew hates Russia and its Government, and the fact that England is now friendly to Russia has the effect of making the Jew to a certain extent anti-British…a consideration to which the Germans are, I think, alive.” Indeed, Lowther concluded, “I have reason to believe that my German colleague is aware of the extent to which Jewish and Latin Masonry inspires the Committee, and that he has confidentially kept his Government informed as to this feature of Young Turkey politics.”

and do not find it funny one bit . The Imperial presense of Britain at risk by the combination of Germany -the clear and present danger- and America -the unclear and future danger- brought together the Oriental Jew -a completely different kind of Jew compared to the Western one who is completely detested but tolerated on Imperial designs by the White Christian people . And mind you that Imperial presense means fully a quarter of the world .

a complete disgust , by the way , at the historical experience . Just as the White Man was about to set foot on the New World for easy loot (even if it was in the form of a lesser breed like the Spaniards) the Ottomans had arranged to save the Jews from the clutches of the Inqusition , alongside more numerous Muslims . The 1500s were to be real scary for the Europeans as the Ottomans showed signs of becoming a Maritime nation ; what would happen if the Turk arrived in the far away continents to mess with the minds of the equally barbaric Natives ? Doesn't make sense ? It sure does . The Turk is a barbarian , is a mindless savage . Some other guy must be guiding him , a devilish mind . Yeah , sure enough . Rose to a new pitch when some Jewish guy apparently convinced the Ottoman Sultan that the wines of Cyprus were so sweet and conveniently the Arsenal in Venice went sky-high in 1570 . Hence :

In the mid-seventeenth century, two English Puritans residing in Holland—Joanna and Ebenezer Cartwright—petitioned their government “That this Nation of England, with the inhabitants of the Netherlands, shall be the first and the readiest to transport Izraell’s sons and daughters in their ships to the Land promised by their forefathers, Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob for an everlasting Inheritance.” Guided by the Scriptures, the Puritans believed that the advent of the Messiah would occur once the people of Judaea were restored to their native land.

or perhaps more relevantly the Jew would stop masterminding the Devil's Seed , the Godless Turk to an ever more threatening power ... Considering Vienna was yet to come ... Ever confused by the Extremist Christians' support for the Zionism ? They just hate Muslims more .

the 1492 and "The Oriental Jew is an adept at manipulating occult forces." should not come as barely hidden or in-the-clear contempt ; am merely reporting what's exactly not obvious -they are the things we are always stuck with .

and yet there is always something better ... Take the Bulgarians in 1943-44 . They are in an uneasy alliance with the Germans hoping to recover the gains of their victories in the first of the Balkan Wars yet the news from all around the world suggest the second of the Balkan Wars might be a closer approximation of the future . They have already sent peace feelers to the Allies -to learn there are no terms on offer . It's Unconditional Surrender only . The Air Force types want to prove that bombing the cities can indeed make countries surrender ; they are so after to prove that their prophet , Douhet was right . As always am working all those from only one book , it appears the Allies asked Ankara whether it would be OK and Inönü said yes . Now that this is looking evermore like some pseudo-history instead of r16 scale arrant nonsense , let's say the Allied Air Chiefs were concerned with a possible reaction that might have categorized the attacks as a repeat of the Nazi bombing of Belgrade which had resulted in RF-84F Thunderjet sorties across the Balkans . Yet , the book immediately has it , the Ambrassadors of both the UK and US demanded a bombardment to interdict rail traffic between Germany and Turkey ; our exports (especially of minerals) was a real sore point .

then it comes . The Bombing of Sofia . The Bulgarians are outraged ; they link it to the thing that the British have given an offer to transfer 4500 Jewish children to Palestine and they have refused to take . To placate the Germans they have also emptied their capital of Jews . Naturally enough the Allies , in the form USAAF , target the Jewish Quarters to prove they are not puppets of the said . Bulgarians enraged at this ; being so new in the business of being bombed by the mighty Western Allies , they are not aware accuracy in aerial attacks is just a folk-tale , urban legend in the parlance of the 21st Century . In 1943 it was almost possible to aim the incomparable Norden bombsight at Sofia and hit Athens , or something and whatever ... The Bulgarians feel the bombing came only when the Jews were removed and the Allies were killing Bulgarians while lying at their faces . Finally 1944 and "effective" raids . And what happens ? A German General arrives to shore up the Bulgarian Goverment and the Bulgarian Prime Minister asks the Germans to bomb Istanbul ...

“The Oriental Jew is an adept at manipulating occult forces…” and had taken control of the Turkish Republic , you would just have ask the Bulgarians of 1944 . Even if the book where ı took the story has a footnote that says the venue was a discussion about an Axis invasion of Thrace were we to join the Allies . It doesn't matter one bit that İnönü had to be real careful to avoid a likewise German outburst . Take the case of Struma , which we have heard in full only because the New Turkey just loves to paint the Old as a racist Nazi wannabe . All those people were kicked out to the sea , after some relative of some businessman alone was allowed out ; given some duration of time at sea . Since the ship was some rotting barge , it would soon be inevitable that people would have to allowed to land in Turkey or they would perish at sea . Since Germans were not in a position to admit they were slaughtering any Jews they could grab on an industrial scale , all those 742 or so people would have been locked in some camp , before leaving Turkey in one or twos . Hearing this , Stalin said "Zhidlovers!" and set a submarine to sink the ship .

we Turks always get the right for the first bid whenever there are Jews for sale . Or the like . Ever since 1492 . With only Ottomans as the market , for almost three hundred years straight the Universal Human Rights were justified by the then recent successes in European husbandry and stockbreeding ; higher the quality of the feed , higher the value of cattle . Whenever people accuse the Turks for lack of respect to such esteemed values , they clearly have no idea what passes through the mind as they yap and yap . Once again the r16 scale thing , right ? ı won't bid on the Nigerian girls abducted by Boko Haram . Let's see greatness in convincing that it's real stupid instead of sowing doubts about the size of Galactica's Marine detachment .

so , did he do it or did he not ? Was Winston Churchill responsible , for wrecking carefully prepared plans that were working like a clock ? For the dismemberment of the Ottoman Empire and extermination of the Turkish Menace once and for all ? With no chance of recovery for us , us the Devil Seed , us the lumbering fools , us useful only as a foil for practitioners of Dark Magic with blood of the babies freshly torn-asunder dripping from spikes , us the curse of entire mankind and us the reason that is there has to be an Hell somewhere as we can not be punished enough in this world ? Us the probable reason why the entire genre of Zombie flicks was invented ? With Churchill messing with the God's work in his childish egoism to mess all of it up big time in Gallipoli ; driving Gen. Ian Hamilton , overall commander for the Expeditionary Forces on land , to despair at

"a single dirty Turk at the Maxim [gun to] kill ten–twenty–fifty of our fellows on the barbed wire... each of whom is worth several dozen Turks."

ı do speak with the power and precision of Mathematics ! Assuming any Englishman is worth 40 Turks on average and hence any European is about 20 , did Churchill's fumbling conduct in the Great War prolonged the ordeal not only into 1918 but beyond to a repeat and the Cold War and stuff with -say- 100 million White Deaths and stuff at a time we Turks probably numbered something like 30 millions -with a sizeable proportion under such enlightened conduct by the Tsar's Goverment , it's just reasonable that any Turk should have been should have been killed , brought back and killed again like 75 times ! You know the drill from the TV , just don't shoot us in the head ...

is Winston Churchill the reason why it failed and people hate us so much and yet fear the White Lefties in the Anglosphere cursed with a thing for the so called human rights , even for Turks ? People angry at the losers who ignore Gladstone's definition about Turks "that inhuman exception to the human race" , and have to whisper it in barely audible form that Death to us and sooner the better ?

actually his childhood provides clues for both affirmative and negative responses to question at hand .

I first went to Harrow in the summer term. The school possessed the biggest swimming bath I had ever seen... Naturally it was a good joke to come up behind some naked friend, or even enemy, and push him in. I made quite a habit of this with boys of my own size or less.

One day when I had been no more than a month in the school, I saw a boy standing in a meditative posture wrapped in a towel on the very brink. He was no bigger than I was, so I thought him fair game. Coming stealthily behind, I pushed him in, holding on to his towel out of humanity, so that it should not get wet. I was startled to see a furious face emerge from the foam, and a being evidently of enormous strength making its way by fierce strokes to the shore. I fled; but in vain. Swift as the wind my pursuer overtook me, seized me in a ferocious grip and hurled me into the deepest part of the pool.

I soon scrambled out on the other side, and found myself surrounded by an agitated crowd of younger boys. 'You're in for it,' they said. 'Do you know what you have done? It's Amery; he's in the Sixth Form. He is Head of his House; he is champion at Gym; he has got his football colours."

They continued to recount his many titles to fame and reverence, and to dilate upon the awful retribution that would fall upon me. I was convulsed not only with terror, but with the guilt of sacrilege. How could I tell his rank when he was in a bath-towel and so small? I determined to apologise immediately. I approached the potentate in lively trepidation. 'I am very sorry', I said. 'I mistook you for a Fourth Form boy. You are so small.' He did not seem at all placated by this; so I added in a most brilliant recovery, 'My father, who is a great man, is also small.' At this he laughed, and after some general remarks about my 'cheek' and how I had better be careful in the future, signified that the incident was closed.

I have been fortunate to see a good deal more of him, in times when three years' difference in age is not so important as it is at school. We were afterwards to be Cabinet colleagues for a good many years.

for a man destined to be described by JFK -when the US President was making him an Honorary Citizen of the United States in April 1963- as one who "mobilised the English language and sent it into battle" , not a big deal to wiggle out of trouble with a glib tongue ... Schoolyard bullying being an essential part of training for "leadership of the times" , judging whom to haze and whom to avoid , an absolute requirement to watch for "class" differences , in absolute respect to superiors and domineering conduct to lessers and as Amery shows , some benevolent restraint to the benefit of the said lessers , for the difference in age will one day will not mean that much ; at Harrow they are all equals in the end , they will soon be ruling England and hence the world . For his part , Amery in all probability already knows Winston is the son of a Member of Parliament , so a guy with an assured future . Probably to become the Prime Minister one day , only because the Crown already belongs to a different family ...

even if Winston the kid lives an horrible existence . "The neglect and lack of interest in him shown by his parents were remarkable, even judged by the standards of late Victorian and Edwardian days.” his son would write of him . Not particularly successful in school , his father finally gets him into Sandhurst as a prelude for service in the Army ; and is actually enraged that it takes three tries for him to gain entrance . Comdemned to Cavalry with such poor academic performance , Winston is to cost his father another 200£ a year for the horses and the extras ... To put that into perspective , Winston once lost a watch , a gift from his father and to find it he had to change the flow of a stream and the 23 men he borrowed from the Infantry Regiment for the day cost him 3£ , the amount of money his nanny Mrs Everest made in a month ... His father's death robbed Winston's hopes of entering the Parliament and finally being with his father and respected as an equal , if not loved as a son .

the bricksize , ever impressive Dreadnought by Massie almost makes you feel sorry for Winston , the grown up ; the children being ever innocent and sinless . You do feel sorry for Winston the kid . Knowing ı would need some extra reading material (for this ain't "Which handle rotates the turbolazer turret left or right relative to the horizontal plane of the ship?" or the like) ı grabbed a few over the net . When ı re-checked Dreadnought ı had not reached to the point (on those new ones) where the romance between his parents sours . One narrative that deals with his family -through the virtue being more detailed- lacks the striking power of the Massie account of the thing that Winston's mother had 200 lovers . Short , sharp and to the point . Well , with the lack of exotic places , dancers and fruits in addition to countless other things , her behaviour seems quite modest when "judged by the standards of late Victorian and Edwardian days." But than ı am actually not that good an Occidentalist , being a mere amateur in the still unlikely case that Occidentalism exists ; to fully explain why . Never minding the rules about foul language and stuff in CFC . Referenced here only to mention that her contacts fully covered the lost influence of his deceased father .

... a day or two passes as r16 divides his computer time between checking more books and playing the same exact map , this time as Moriquendi . No Isengard and Angmar still rocks if relocated elsewhere to lack resources to auto-produce trolls . No , ı didn't complete my birthday resolution yet ...

and yet another lesson in why books should be read in full , instead of checking the index and see anything that can be used . The "Family Book" (as mentioned above as a contrast to Massie's) indeed gives a number in the next chapter ; a round Hundred . And complains in a discreet way that it has climbed up and up in the revisionisms of the 20th Century ... The sexually transmitted diease thing gets also a mention . And you even get a whiff of the heartbreak Winston's mother got when that her dear husband immediately jumped on a maid in the very first possible moment ; a case in which the wretched woman tried to explain that it wouldn't be safe . At least according to the gossips of Berlin of yesteryears . Not only she was shocked and hence ready to pay back but Mrs. Churchill would have been really amenable to wear the apparel ; if it was the thing . French Maids seems to be still quite a genre . In any case it was a regular thing back then . The English were indeed following the ancient precepts dating back to the glorious Greeks : wife for population statistics - fun elsewhere . Tourism was actually invented for the Italian gardeners ; as adultery within the ranks were causing immense trouble for the governance of European Colonial Empires : Wifes needed distraction elsewhere , somewhere , somehow . So , it's not a Hundred but two -with 10 to 15 being "current" every month .

actually worked "well" . All those kids growing up in neglect of their families learned there was nothing in this world safe for the weak ; they would be very much alone in life . Making great captains of the industry and excellent Social Darwinists : No mercy , no remorse because nobody loves or cares in the first place .

winston Churchill was a fully rounded up person , fiercely shaped by life , offered a nice education of which he took maximum advantage in the fields of personal relationships and bullying , finely polished with his own studies once he decided he needed it , bouyed up by combat experience and in good graces of London . He was of naked ambition and rather few scruples . His family , described as one of the top five of England , was needed for the balance of influence since Balance in many things require a presence where the challengers would smell a danger and yet the family was not pulling its weight lately . Winston Churchill was already marked for great things .

churchill's future was assured . He would be accomodated , not out of a particular fondness on part of his colleagues , but systems do thrive on balances . Once again repeating it , his family was not exactly contributing to "the system" in a "meaningful way" . Quite unrelated but within my lifetime , the tale of Lady Diana , Princess of Wales , was a story you would have to work hard not to be aware of ; even if "exactly nothing" defines my extent of the knowledge on how things were by late 20th Century .

even if the Egyptian "joy" that an half Egyptian was to be on the list of heirs to the British Throne still gets referenced with straight faces , as far as that's possible . Systems demand "work" , even from those who benefits most . Work in this case being a claim on future mutual gains , based on the good life of one single guy , a kinda browner playboy , who on 105.62% probability was not getting it . The game played knowingly by the said guy , abadoning some photo-model with relish , apparently since she actually wanted to marry or something . But then , it's seriously a long shot ; Egypt is a captive market , in due consideration of the American military / financial aid : the M-1 tank remains in production almost solely because of the exports in lean years and Challengers still get a boo or something . And Saudis wouldn't pay in any case for

a) they were just getting El Kaide into high gear ; gaining traction in Afghanistan and Zevahiri in daily contact with people willing to use RPGs in the streets of Cairo , hence no need for an even extra bulk of Chobham armour

b) far more pertinently , were creaking under the fiscal load of the Yamamah deals of the Thatcher era .

having seen some accounts on the Al Crusading , ı have a feeling that the "current" narrative claims her real interest was a doctor from Pakistan , for extra influence among the kinda more secular sections of that troubled country .

it was only Winston . He , perhaps understandably , wanted it quicker . He was to be the Prime Minister of an Empire upon which the Sun never sat and the Empire would remain as enduring and imposing , after Winston Churchill wrote his own chapter in history . A real glorious one , no doubt . For this assured outcome his seat in the Parliament would be ready as soon as practicable . To while away the time and as an extra boost in elections a little soldiering would have helped .

before delving deeper , this notion of an instant shake and bake conqueror of the world must be sounding odd for anybody familiar with the financial straits Young Churchill was always in . Who , just to start his career , had to "buy" his position in India for an hefty 1000 £ . Whose every letter to his mother seemingly involved more and more money , without which he really couldn't cut the grade in the eyes of his lesser yet richer fellow officers . Moving a decade or two into Winston Churchill's future , the tiny percentage he would reap out of the Thousand Pounds a day affair was no surprise ; not of a exact need or a particular greed and more of a personal satisfaction . And considering what he would almost deserve to be called yet can not be called -in CFC at least- even if the term has been quite legitimized by the TV shows where people see considerable improvements to their vehicles as "P_ my Ride!" ? With Winston Churchill regularly providing a list of names to be impressed ? To his mother ? "The dozens of queens he was supposed to conquer" was actually a list that existed , not that the names were actually queens nor they had realms . It was an age when literature for young boys handled issues related to sex with guaranteed assurances of success ; where Orientals included some fair amount of frustrated ladies who were ready to satisfy in return for a bow of the hat ; and eternally at that ... In stark contrast to chaperoned meetings and all , where the young couple were to dazzle the Society and the new fangled gossip columns , get hitched , produce "the heir and spare" and then ... jump on the nearest maid or equivalent . Churchill was to get satisfaction for all he had had to suffer ...

churchill's career started with a touristic trip to Cuba . Where , according to the traditions and stuff of the day he was to observe the troubled situation in the country ; just like NATO provides a global surveillance of troublespots -and hence faster promotion to select officers- these days . History indeed records that he was on some "secret mission" ; to see the Mauser rifles in action . Which were indeed impressive , Americans (suffering somewhat from them a couple of years later) would be pirating it as Springfield 1903 . The one or two books ı have narrow it down to observation of the penetrative powers of the bullets ; can't tell why the Brits just didn't buy a dozen rifles with a case of ammunition and fired them themselves . Or whether it was some kind of Dum Dum or whatever .

doesn't matter . As the future PM Winston had just met the British Spy thingy of the days . An introduction to personalities a few of whom were sure to be classmates or at least graduates of the same schools he had been to . Since , you know , there was no other option for others to be employed ... Can't find it now , but sometime in the 20th Century some guy had a job interview for some specialized position and just three questions were asked : Which school he went to , how much did his father make in a year and did he ride an horse ... Actually , not funny , even if the job might well been have about rocket science . His father's wealth and riding defined whether he was of the upper classes ; there were sons of the newly rich who lacked the splendour and village lads who could ride , in combination the two would weed out a lot of people . And of course he would have never been allowed to finish a proper school , in case he wasn't "proper" himself . Not unique to England either , from Romans to Chinese and to Ottomans , the study of Classics was the requirement for one to be allowed to work for the State . Everything has a narrative ; anyone mastering that can fit in and work to keep it that way .

snubbed by the Spanish as a snobbish dandy -arrogance unmatched by knowledge- , Churchill developed a taste for "his" classics , he would make up for the lost time by devouring tome after tome . By the time he was fit for running the British Spy thingy where he created new divisions to concentrate the "Power" in his hands , he was fully conversant in so many books .

his job in India that would have been fully satisfying for an entire generation of his colleagues . Not for Churchill . He was actually smart ; the books suggest he might have been a scientist of world class renown . Commanding a small body of troops , servants , Polo games in the afternoon , hunting -of wildlife and ladies (if available)- was entirely satisfactory for the lot . His mother was involved with a 24 years old (to her 43) and the guy would write her that "We had a good day - about 1100 head all told, 700 pheasants and the rest rabbits and hares ..." and yet Winston was chafing at the idea that he wasn't as impressive as he should been in Cuba .

luckily an operation in India saved him from the gloom for he had been unsuccessfully agitating for a new chance in the war between the Ottomans and the Greeks . To undo the past for a record without a blemish is a very Churchill thing to do . Yet the war he couldn't get to would work for him in the end . First , there was the expedition to the North-Western Frontier where the Pathans were Pathans , before becoming the Pashtuns of today . He would have gotten his Victoria Cross there and then , going to the extent of having a grey pony instead of browns like his colleagues and thus becoming a magnet for bullets and acquiring a few stories that would be real useful in the Parliamentary debates to come . And of course , he was attached as a journalist of sorts , couldn't be held responsible for any failures - the enemy being a troublesome lot . The British Army had been in constant action on the border with Afghanistan , our hobbled victory over the Greeks would have been entirely impossible to spot in the decision to move up there once again . A failed sentence ? In all probability . What would Churchill find in an Ottoman victory to make a name with ? It was in Sudan , where the Brits decided to show Islam its place in the modern world , having being defeated years back by the hordes of Mahdi and living with it . Italians had been defeated in Ethiopia and the French were sending troops across Africa . Where they could gloriously defeat people who had once beaten the British . To add to all this , a probable increase in the Ottoman efforts in Pan-Islamism boosted by winning over the Greeks could have been troublesome . Hence Kitchener to move and destroy the Mahdists and Churchill to the scene ...

helped by the "Nile Expedition" of his mother lobbying Kitchener , and where she fell foul of a lover of hers after catching the guy cheating . Almost hours after she had left for England only to learn the ship would be delayed for a few days . Perhaps there was no real need for them ; Winston making up target lists and his mother reminding the copious amounts of paramours of the past favours with hints of future ones to come . His generals would take him sooner or later to the spot he would make his mark so that he could immediately quit and run for Parliament .

omdurman was where Churchill struck gold . And by luck . War is glorious , war is intoxicating in its adrenaline rush . Especially if it's assured you will walk through it unharmed . Fame and glory safely achieved by embellishment . Kitchener , certainly , wouldn't want to explain how he lost the future Prime Minister by an ill advised Cavalry charge . Which at the time was perfectly reasonable to give Churchill "his" charge , some 150 Dervishes blocking the road . Unknown was that it was a valley where some 1000 were waiting for something . Horrible is the common description of the clash that followed , since the Lancers were already in the charge and couldn't actually stop . With 20 killed and 50 wounded out of 320 it certainly doesn't seem much of a bloodbath , but then losing 20 men in some Colonial combat could topple French Goverments of the time ... In any case Winston got his war , his victory . His luck held , what might have been his end became his ticket to stardom .

and more to the point in that it was justifiably a feat of arms instead of a little escapade to be magnified to astonishing brilliance by the assidious help of Journalists . Winston Churchill would be charging in a lot of things later in life , with disasterous consequences for the British Empire , only because once he had done an unscripted fight and won .

but then that was still in the future . He was to go into politics now ...

and why exactly did he lose his first election in 1899 ? Here's the answer , from a book he had published a year before for "brand recognition" ...

I have tried to gild war, and to solace myself for the loss of dear and gallant friends, with the thought that a soldier's death for a cause that he believes in will count for much, whatever may be beyond this world. When the soldier of a civilised Power is killed in action, his limbs are composed and his body is borne by friendly arms reverently to the grave. The wail of the fifes, the roll of the drums, the triumphant words of the Funeral Service, all divest the act of its squalor, and the spectator sympathises with, perhaps almost envies, the comrade who has found this honourable exit. But there was nothing dulce et decorum about the Dervish dead; nothing of the dignity of unconquerable manhood; all was filthy corruption. Yet these were as brave men as ever walked the earth. The conviction was borne in on me that their claim beyond the grave in respect of a valiant death was not less good than that which any of our countrymen could make. The thought may not be original; it may happily be untrue; it seemed certainly most unwelcome.

[ ... ]

The white-clad bodies of the men were intermingled with the brown and bay horses, so that this part of the field looked less whitespeckled than the rest. They had ridden straight at the solid line of bayonets and in the teeth of the storm of projectiles. Every man had galloped at full speed, and when he fell he shot many lengths in front of his horse, rolling over and over - destroyed, not conquered by machinery.

At such sights the triumph of victory faded on the mind and a mournful feeling of disgust grew stronger. All this was bad to see, but worse remained; after the dead, the wounded. The officer or soldier who escapes from the field with a wound has a claim on his country. To the private it may mean a pension; to the officer a gratuity, perhaps a 'mention in despatches', certainly advancement in his profession. The scar may even, when the stink has departed, be a source of pride - an excuse to retell the story. To soothe the pain there are anaesthetics; to heal the injury the resources of science are at hand. It was otherwise with the Dervish wounded.

Would the reader be further sickened with the horrors of the field? There was a man that had crawled a mile in three days, but was yet two miles from the river. He had one foot; the other remained behind. I wonder if he ever reached the water he had struggled so hard to attain! There was a man with both legs shattered; he had dragged himself along in a sitting posture, making perhaps four hundred yards a day. The extraordinary vitality of these poor wretches only prolonged their torments.

So terrible were the sights and smells that the brain failed to realise the suffering and agony they proclaimed. As a man faints and his body refuses to suffer beyond a certain degree under torture, so the mind was unable to appreciate that an arrangement ofline and colour lying on the ground was a human being, partly putrefied but still alive. Perhaps stern Nature, more merciful than stern civilisation, lent a kindly delirium. But I must record the fact that most of the men I saw were sane and capable of feeling every pang. And meanwhile they all struggled towards the Nile, the great river of their country, without which the invaders could never have come upon them, but which they nevertheless did not reproach. One man had reached it and lay exhausted, but content, on the bank. Another had attained the water and had died at its brim. Let us hope he had his drink first.

The statement that 'the wounded Dervishes received every delicacy and attention' is so utterly devoid of truth that it transcends the limits of mendacity and passes into the realms of the ridiculous. I was impatient to get back to the camp. There was nothing to be gained by dallying on the field, unless a man were anxious to become quite callous, so that no imaginable misery which could come to human flesh would ever have moved him again. I may have written in these pages something of vengeance and of the paying of a debt. It may be that vengeance is sweet, and that the gods forbade vengeance to men because they reserved for themselves so delicious and intoxicating a drink. But no one should drain the cup to the bottom. The dregs are often filthy-tasting.

[ ... ]

So as the haze deepened into the gloom of the night, and the uncertain outlines of the distant hills faded altogether from the view, we rode back to camp - 'home to Omdurman' and left the field of battle to its silent occupants. There they lie, those valiant warriors of a false faith and fallen domination; their only history preserved by their conquerors; their only monument, their bones - and these the drifting sand of the desert will bury in a few short years. Three days before I had seen them rise - eager, confident, resolved. The roar of their shouting had swelled like the surf on a rocky shore. The flashing of their blades had displayed their numbers, their vitality, their ferocity. They were confident in their strength, in the justice of their cause, in the support of their religion.

Now only the heaps of corruption in the plain, and the fugitives dispersed and scattered in the wilderness, remained. The terrible machinery of scientific war had done its work. The Dervish host was scattered and destroyed. Their end, however, only anticipates that of the victors; for Time, which laughs at science, as science laughs at valour, will in due course contemptuously brush both combatants away.

his own brilliance at fault : Meant to remind that he was charging the said host and he sweated in combat and smelt the results of combat afterwards with extensive care for "Liberal" sensitivies . Yet ... Readers of such passages would be justifiably in doubt . Of whether he really meant all that ? Critizing Kitchener must also helped a lot for people to reach a decision to teach him a lesson . Uhmm , would it help if one remembers that ı do have a recurrent thing about vote fixing ?

and it was a lesson he would never forget , or at least claim to that direction . On his 80th birthday , speaking to the House of Commons: 'I have never accepted what many people have kindly said: namely that I inspired the nation,' he said in a confidential tone. And then, raising his voice, 'It was the nations and the race dwelling all round the globe that had the lion's heart.' A pause, then an apparent afterthought: 'I had the luck to be called upon to give the roar.'

churchill was in . He was born to be in ...

incredibly deep and insightful knowledge of the subject r16. My question is as follows:
Were the Allied bombings of the German city of Dresden in Feb. 1945 justifiable?
I mean, there was little doubt the war was coming to the end, why mercilessly bomb a beautiful city full of old, well preserved buildings which could have been a major tourist attraction nowadays. Thousands of civilians died while the damage to the German war industry was (supposedly) minimal. Could anyone elaborate about this topic? Am I way off?

if you don't mind ı would like to stick to the narrative -never minding whatever it might be in that particular moment .

as for Dresden ı am not exactly sure whether it was in this thread but the British wanted to show off their conventional city busting potential while Americans were just about to get into it . With the nuke coming and the end of the war in clear sight . Lemay was some sort of wounded by Luftwaffe fighters over Schweinfurt or something , he had an apprehension of turning in the true colours and specifically killing civilians . While there was still a "possibility" of resistance .

there ain't much to writing "papers" if you can copy paste , ı don't know what people were doing before the invention of computers , although that method almost guarantees annoying repetations ...

Three weeks after speaking at Bath, [in his first act as the future politician] Churchill was back in India, in Bangalore. On 28 August 1897, breaking off work on a novel that he was writing ... stimulated by his Cuban experiences - he left Bangalore for the North-West Frontier of India, where a rebellion had broken out by those whom he described in a letter to his mother as 'fierce wild warlike tribes of Afghan stock'. Churchill was in action on the North-West Frontier for five weeks in September and October 1897. The impressions that those five weeks fighting the Pashtun tribesmen in the Mohmand Valley made on him were vivid, as was his sense of the ideals for which the tribesmen were fighting. He set down his thoughts in his book The Story of the Malakand Field Force:

I would that it were in my power to convey to the reader, who has not had the fortune to live with troops on service, some just appreciation of the compensations of war. The healthy, open-air life, the vivid incidents, the excitement, not only of realisation, but of anticipation, the generous and cheery friendships, the chances of distinction which are open to all, invest life with keener interests, and rarer pleasures.

The uncertainty and importance of the present reduce the past and future to comparative insignificance, and clear the mind of minor worries. And when all is over, memories remain which few men do not hold precious. As to the hardships, these though severe may be endured. Ascetics and recluses have in their endeavours to look beyond the grave suffered worse things. Nor will the soldier in the pursuit of fame and the enjoyment of the pleasures of war be exposed to greater discomforts than Diogenes in his tub, or the Trappists in their monastery. Besides all this, his chances of learning about the next world are infinitely greater.

And yet, when all has been said, we are confronted with a mournful but stubborn fact. In this contrary life, so prosaic is the mind of man, so material his soul, so poor his spirit, that there is no one who has been six months on active service who is not delighted to get safe home again, to the comfortable monotonies of peace.

he is quite a human-being , Winston , of flesh and weakness instead steel and unbreakable strength . Knows the electorate is overbombarded by almost daily examples of British gallantry , which is quite the normal with the British being the "highest" and "foremost" race in the world . Winston wants to win and wants to dominate and yet he wants to be respected as well . He will shy away from declaring he's godlike . And if he won fame in war , any miner's son or farmer's boy had an equal chance to get the same distinction ; as long as they presented their not particularly worthy skins to the same risks ...

Reflecting on the adversaries of Britain on the North-West Frontier, he wrote:

Yet the life even of these barbarous people is not without moments when the lover of the picturesque might sympathise with their hopes and fears. In the cool of the evening, when the sun has sunk behind the mountains of Afghanistan, and the valleys are filled with a delicious twilight, the elders of the village lead the way to the chenar trees by the water's side, and there, while the men are cleaning their rifles, or smoking their hookas, and the women are making rude ornaments from beads, and cloves, and nuts, the Mullah drones the evening prayer.

Few white men have seen, and returned to tell the tale. But we may imagine the conversation passing from the prices of arms and cattle, the prospects of the harvest, or the village gossip, to the great Power, that lies to the southward, and comes nearer year by year. Perhaps some former Sepoy, of Beluchis or Pathans, will recount his adventures in the bazaars of Peshawar, or tell of the white officers he has followed and fought for in the past.

He will speak of their careless bravery and their strange sports; of the far-reaching power of the Government, that never forgets to send his pension regularly as the months pass by; and he may even predict to the listening circle the day when their valleys will be involved in the comprehensive grasp of that great machine, and judges, collectors and commissioners shall ride to sessions at Ambeyla, or value the land tax on the soil of Nawagai.

Then the Mullah will raise his voice and remind them of other days when the sons of the prophet drove the infidel from the plains of India, and ruled at Delhi, as wide an Empire as the Kafir holds today:when the true religion strode proudly through the earth and scorned to lie hidden and neglected among the hills: when mighty princes ruled in Baghdad, and all men knew that there was one God, and Mahomet was His prophet.

And the young men hearing these things will grip their Martinis, and pray to Allah, that one day He will bring some Sahib - best prize of all - across their line of sight at seven hundred yards so that, at least, they may strike a blow for insulted and threatened Islam.

well , Winston Churchill knows the English language better than me . And the way to soothe an audience . War on Terror has been quite the same ; in addition to the savage barbarity of the enemy the same media outlets have been quick to point out the "softer tones" . With accounts of how Islam was such a dominant power in the past and how "idealists" want to re-create something similar . Since there are very few aristocrats left to play polo to create the social networks to rule the world when they grow too fat to play polo there are also pecularities belonging to the British Raj . Like the "careless bravery" of the officers , who would rather get killed instead of being labelled a coward . This movie about the guy who gets three white feathers for refusing to go Sudan in order to marry his beloved has always been a personal favourite of sorts , even if the 2000's version is maybe a bit "lower" than the original .

and of course the reminder that "the" Civilisation is better and kinda unstoppable , the taxmen arrive everywhere one day and there's nothing to stop the relentless advance of the West , "the great Power" aka "that great machine" with a "comprehensive grasp" . Finishing it with the horror of the day , just like we would always hear how bin Ladin would one day would get hold of a nuke . Of course the loss of any gentleman is surely a disaster , right ? One dies in end of either , a nuke or a bullet from a Martini ...

him having fought and achieved actual distinction just a year or two later , he could be blunter . Instead of playing for the feelings of the sissies ...

In The River War [of 1898], the young Churchill set down his thoughts on Islam, which he had seen in action both on the North-West Frontier of India and in the Sudan, and about which he had developed decisive views, which he decided to put before his readers:

How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries. Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in a Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.

Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen; all know how to die; but the influence of religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytising faith. It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science - the science against which it had vainly struggled - the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome.

the passage has been quoted in CFC , with commentary that quoting Churchill has to be a punishable offense , ı believe . Much like a 21st Century TV commentator lauding the superiority of Free Markets and Globalism and somehow justifying military action against the obstacles against the glory of Capitalism even if the eventual victory of the Capitalism is like assured by the assured superiority of the Capitalism and Capitalism like ends wars . ı wasn't offended at all by the passage when it came up in CFC . Not even felt a need to remind that by 1880s London was paying nice amounts of bribes in addition to gunboat diplomacy to prevent "reforms" taking place in yet unconquered places . The Ottoman reforms would be "allowed" to go on only if there was a serious cap on the numbers of Turks first and Muslims second who would learn the new arts of the West . It would have rankled me quite a bit ; actually more than a bit .

perhaps enough to comment on how the Marmara Region is such a nice place for silk production and how the State opened a school to teach scientific methods on raising the silk bugs and there's nary a Muslim name among the students and so on . ı can do even better . Being cheap , ı like buying history magazines on the cheap . And one has an article on that school . That graduated 18 people in 1893 . Only one of them with a Turkish / Muslim name . One Greek and one that could be Greek and 15 Armenians . From 1888 when it was opened up to 1922 during a period when the city of Bursa had sizeable minorities there were 2032 graduates . Of which 22% were Turks and stuff , while 44% were Armenians , 32% Greeks , 0.93% Bulgarians and 0.09% Jews . Clear proof of a foreign conspiracy that requires curses and solemn wows of extermination ? ı don't have a particular right to do that . The Christian minorities were citizens of this country as well and pressing for "equality" would have meant that the minorities would not be taught anyhow ... Whose large commercial success justified additional investment in that city meaning there was a demand for "more" , which could be satisfied only by bringing in Turks ? That was like the official Ottoman position for industrialization, that by providing real good profits for the minorities the undeniable backbone of the Empire would also be allowed by the foreigners to develop , which in turn would have meant prolonging the Empire ... Churchill's voter base had no need to hear about that ; they all knew Capitalism was best when it was a monopoly ...

fairness is something one must strive for . Lack of it brings omissions and failures in judgement and misjudgements are the stepping stones for mistakes . Mistakes , at times , can not be corrected and there are mistakes that can't even be alleviated . As such , Winston Churchill was a man of his times . Had he been born later , enough to be a political figure of the 21st Century , he would surely been as worthy of the Oscar Nobel for Peace as Barack Hussein . That thing always bugs me a bit to mention . Was using Emmy/Grammy as a substitute since Barack Hussein ain't no Denzel to be actual Oscar grade , but was told Emmies and Grammies are things ı wouldn't get either . So , what if , Churchill was some guy who burn the world to get his point and to prove he was tops ? Apparently even Jimmy Carter has one of those Nobel things !

considering what the Terror on War has given the world , there seems to be a concious effort by American historians to include the peanut farmer , the Loser before the Great Communicator as a valuble partner , a true member of the Hall of Fame , as the true architect of the American victory in the Cold War . Otherwise it would like Dabya alone and him smiling under that banner that says "Mission Accomplished." Accomplishment indeed , with America dropping a bomb or two a day on ISIL and looking the other day as heart-eaters nibble and nibble evermore as long as they nibble in a suitable distance form the oilfields of N.Iraq ... And of course , it must be just about right that the North Western Border which completed Winston Churchill into the man he would be , also produced the strain of thought that guided America into the first quarter of this Century as the most powerful "Jihadist" institution ever ...

the narrative is still about Tolkien , diversified solely as an examination of Churchill , who would have a part of the final word on whether England would follow the Nazi Germany in an adulation of the Norse legends and why Tolkien would whether or not deserve sainthood . After a suitable period of time when the Starfleet is done with American frying .

and why ? It's all about Turkey , of course ! That America bloodily embraced the Little Jihad of Islamic Faith , and twisted it all around to be an effective way of devastating Muslims in the first place . It starts with Ike , who was an alliance builder and could see people as "equals" without too much bluster or blunder . You know , even us , uncouth barbarians ... It was a time when America was quite effectively reducing the European Colonial Empires and it somehow didn't feel right for far too many Americans . Not because they were about to respect the internal affairs of other countries , but those Europeans were just like them , and their subjects in the colonies were just like not them . There had to be a better way of fighting Communism and still enlarging American zone of influence without further hurting the Europeans and it was the 1950s , where our Brigade had to be kinda real impressive to survive the Red Chinese . War , where more of us would be engaged could have been real useful , to attrite all sorts of the enemies of the order that many in Washington thought was the right one .

have already been on that , possibly in this thread as well , how the "Restoration of the 1950s" would have gotten us into a war with Syria in 1958 or thereabouts ; prevented only by the loudmouth Khruschev who just loved to rub the Sputnik into the Americans again and again . Whenever Khruschev said "Rockets" the world took a deep breath and stepped back from the brink ... We simply had to be outta NATO . Cyprus was a perfect chance to pull that off , we fighting with an ally from NATO and just like there was no place for a second sun , one would have to go . Johnson much irritated by the August 64 clashes on the island coincided by Russian "provocations" in the Gulf of Tonkin and we were spared as the mighty US tried to kick some backside of shortish , yellow coloured people who weren't like yellow and fought back . With enough valour , too ... That glaring lack of efficiency in those years bite a chunk of the American bark with now dead guys rolled their eyes at the awe inspiring talks of how Phantoms were imposing their will on the MiGs . America really needed some attrition on the Soviet industrial capacity . Made them forget their "outstanding" Antisemitism and offer a deal to Israel , which was like already ready for it with de Gaulle being a moderator of sorts during the talks ; France could not keep supplying Mirages at "friendship" prices for ever . The Israeli victory of 1967 depends much on the Arabian trust in American disgust and stuff at everything Jewish .

on and off ... As we were itching for a go at the Greeks while in Athens they were on a similar level of confidence at American intents and capabilities , the 1970s were of new dynamics . Israel finally figured that the Soviet industial capabilities could really hurt with destroyed SAM batteries immediately replaced and peace would have descended on to the Middle East after a fashion . Until of course when USAF pressed for a match with the Soviets . It was the Israeli airmen who carried the day , but confidence was restored and Nixon decided to goad Hanoi in . 1972 finally ended with a victory for the "West" and Israel out of hubris allowed 1973 . A bloodbath ... So there we were in 1974 , Greeks toppling the hated Makarios . And to make sure we would react , they insisted on installing Nikos Sampson ... We had to made sure to react , since Greek against Greek dispute on the island was producing "fantastic" results . They would later blame us for the hundreds of people they themselves murdered . Anyhow ...

the game was , as ı believe ı have already mentioned somewhere , we would be like anhilated and the members of the Coalition Goverment would accuse each other and there was talk in the US for an all-out Turkish civil war by 1976 . Counting on overblown Israeli claims from 1973 and Vietnam itself , there was enough confidence that it would work like clockwork and the lack of American capability would justify a coherent lack of direction from the US to stop any of its puppets in Turkey to act foolishly so that we would self destruct and Russians would need to replace all the destroyed tanks and planes and guns and SAMs before they tried to take advantage of it .

as we fought ourselves including a "sudden" explosion of demands for Kurds and our Baath neighbours to the South , as they would readily support the Leftists in country .

it was not to be . The SAS deployed to the amphibious landing areas as tourists were alarmed to discover the Greeks covering the beaches had abandoned their uniforms to melt away . Led to the fastest UN Resolution up to then for a cease-fire . Understandable , the higher grade Greek forces were concentrated to deal with the paratroops and heli-borne infantry ; the beaches would be a shooting gallery . Meanwhile in Ankara there wasn't much of anguish . Bülent Ecevit was confident of the guarantees he had received from Washington and London that it would indeed be a peace operation , a walkover and all the failings of the Turkish Military would be very useful in the aftermath ; the power of the Army to intervene in politics would be broken by the miserable catalogue of troubles that would be clear for all to see . A "disaster" to be distorted out by the media , and idiots running the Military would be fumbling to explain why entire battalions went the wrong way as the Greeks were not even shooting back !

the troops landed nicely , the Greek counterattack on the beaches was delayed and defeated when it finally came . Threw the attack on the airhead into disarray , as the jets were not busy saving the beach , the Greeks has to wait for the night fall . It was a terrible night but they couldn't do it in time and with the sunrise came the jets and hope into the hearts of the troops . Considering it was very clear to all concerned in Ankara that this was war . And really war . It was almost decided . Reinforcement rates definitely favoured us . The Greek morale suffered after they failed to dislodge the airhead . That's when the Goverment in Athens fell .

if you have heard anything about Charlie Wilson's War , you will know this was a career downturn for Gust Avrakotos . Not that he was censured in a mess of Washington's own making . What else could have happened , short of an American intervention to sink Turkish ships and down Turkish planes ? And this was hardly the brief the USN got when Nixon ordered a planned 6th Fleet to Naples to go on as planned , so that the Turkish Navy would find the heart in itself to carry to the first wave of the amphibious troops to land on the 20th . Later on despite Greek pressure and British advice to be more visible , the entire 'American' Navy involvement "against" the 'Turkish' Navy was limited to daily RA-5 recce singletons that limited the support elements to one A-7 as tanker and one other plane as a jammer . Possibly due to the "convoy battle" that lasted a whole freakin' day and saw the Turkish Air Force sinking a Turkish Navy destroyer in error . There are whole cabinets still full of files detailing the "jamming" that saw a group of generals sending 2nd and 3rd waves of jets against the same ships , despite the thing that they stopped the first wave after the Navy reported its ships were under attack . The Army Captain who was a liasion at the Joint Operations Center that signalled the first attack was quite boastful of his feat or something to mention it at the height of Ergenekon investigations . Ignoring the calls to actually do something , because he was like next on the line . Yep , he's the one that got into jail as a retired Chief of General Staff . Anyhow , USAF groundcrews would combat load THK F-100s deployed to Incirlik during the second Cyprus operation in August 1974 in a way of saying "It wasn't me!" and it's reported they regularly outperformed their THK counterparts in speed and stuff .

greeks , so offended by the lack of spines in Americans , decided to harass USN . That a F-5 of theirs ended up behind a USN Phantom gets almost equal coverage with their claims of shooting down 2 THK F-102s -one by missile , one by fuel starvation . Western Media not having a clear picture have various reports of F-102 vs F-102 , Turkish F-5 vs Greek F-102 and most oddly Phantom battles over Cyprus . Ours were not exactly operational at the time .

all these mumbo jumbo are relevant in the sense that America could not get its Turkish puppets defeated by their Greek puppets , despite well planned operations . It was Greeks who left NATO in a huff and they were trustworthy enough to ask Russians for help against a NATO country , only to be ignored . A much blacker black mark on the records of who had been leading the scheming up to then ... America was now on the path of abandoning secular dictatorships . Despite that they could be 100% anti-communists . Failures of such goverments increased the risks of Soviets sneaking in anyhow ; America would from then on count on increased Religiousity . This was also inspired by the example of Israel : Always believed to the source of Marxism , they had had the guts to attack the Soviets . Zealotry in all of its stripes was the perfect weapon for Capitalism ...

explains Jimmy Carter . Better than you would expect . He was like so much for democracy , he like stopped supporting all those tin pot Right Wing dictatorships America had created . Yeah , ı do know about Hippies and how they believed they were changing the US for the better . And he also had a little thing against us , too . Disgusted by the Greek claims that the 6th Fleet did not support them -as Avrakotos led Athens to believe that American warplanes would trail Greek ones into combat and use long range missiles to wipe out entire THK squadrons , Greeks were very vocal about it . Now , the thing here , a THK general , Muhsin Batur had been pressing for a Turkish made combat aircraft . To bolster his anti-American reputation . Americans saw this country as a colony and they wouldn't let us to have heavy industries , anybody who opposed that was a bona fide heroic son of this country and worth to be the ruler of the country ; 1970s being a time where many Turkish Leftists looked at the Baath experience as a "solution" to the woes of Turkey . Batur was very angry when he wasn't allowed to be the Chief of General Staff ; that meant he wouldn't get to become the President when the next Military coup-de-etat took place . In 1970s the next coup was regularly "tomorrow" . So , Batur refused to support the Chief of General Staff of the day in the bid for Presidency in the elections and the Army general could not win and this division between the ranks caught attention .

and of course , Kaddafi was one of the guys who promised to support a Turkish combat aircraft programme . To gain traction with a Turkish Baath that might coagulate around such an industrial effort .

by 1973 , that was a prime reason why "Islamists" in the form of MSP was the minor partner of the Coalition that formed to govern the country . Saudis and stuff were sure to support the same to prevent Kaddafi getting a hold of things . And ı would guess Somebody and / or Someone going company to company to check who had what . Money was sure to come , even before the oil shocks made Arabs rich enough to swipe themselves with 100 bucks . A major USN vs USAF fight , since the size of the THK programme could mean a big decrease in unit costs for American planes if any of them was chosen in a co-production scheme . The urgency much helped by the characteristic Turkish overclaims with regards to money so far in the back accounts .

so whenever r16 says in regards to stuff like USAF agreed F-15 deliveries to start in 1993 as F-4 replacements , irregardless of whether F-18 or 16 was chosen or even in the case the two American LWF contenders were not in the run or in 1979 USN waived the long standing opposition and pressed for Ankara to buy the Iranian Tomcats after the Humeyni take over and agreed on re-engining studies for F-14s , killing the case for the Naval ATF , laugh not ... Afterall , there is reason why Pentagon hates Lord Vader . Imagine what might have happened if he actually had that kind of money ...

and as such it had a ripple effect of sorts , though initially the Iranian re-armament was almost solely inspired by the Israeli case . If fighting the Soviets was what Americans liked the Shah , too , could fight the Russians . It's reported that in early 1970s it was an fire at will zone across the Soviet-Iranian border . When it became clear Iran was being armed against us , the Saudis justified their desire of a defense against Iran , Iraq didn't like surrounded on two sides and quickly became the darling of French arms industry . The Japanese were offended by the initial offer of a cheaper F-15 that omitted certain capabilities starting from the obvious deletion of Nuke switches , doubly offended when they were assured this was the "Turkish Standart " . The French Air Force Command on the other hand , hearing there was a Turkish Standart available , desperately tried to buy F-15s ; they were "raped" into buying Mirage 2000s . French Navy attempts to get '18s as a second best ended up in the Rafale , like 20 years late . The Japanese were still offended by the fact that the F-14 they could buy was even not up to the Iranian ones ; and Lord Vader being much younger could not help having a model of the Varietek on his desk , as that anime started in Japan in around 1974 . Hasegawa clearly makes the best Macross models and Lord Vader's model just looks like the wood carving it is ; but there is a reason why one or two otherwise serious TV programmes insist on showing the VF-1 as actual combat aircraft . Yeah , we sure have tons of squadrons of them ...

despising that a sand lot country of camel herders or something could have such "influence" Carter started with an "export" fighter case . There have always been export fighters , second rate aircraft sold to countries who either can not afford proper equipment or not worthy enough to build up a proper alliance . When fighter jets were the equivalent of consumer goods , like in the 50s when the next generation made the precedessors immediately obsolote Americans were giving away F-84 and 86s free . Then F-5 was specifically developed as such . No heart breaking then in the 1970s to be told that American standarts of the Teen series would be impossible to supply . Until Carter jumped in , ordered the development of "suitable" aircraft , defined with "insulting" language so that nobody would actually order any ... USAF had applied vicious pressure on the USN and the choice of the GD aircraft for European co-production had simply boosted the Falcon "inmeasurably" ; it would be "naturally" F-16 for Turkey . Carter demanded the flight performance emasculated . If you check through Wikipedia you will see random nonsense claiming that Taiwan was cut from US Defence support after Chicoms took over the UN seat for China and the programme was a cover for meaningful support to Taipei and so on ... The F-16/79 is one of the funnier episodes of defence industry ; with Americans claiming this was a plane that could never hurt Beijing since it was so stupid that it was going straight to Turkey and the Chinese delegation turning red . Even the Taiwanese refused to get it and "developed" an aircraft of their own ...

finally it was said , "Yes, Turkey will buy the '79." And it became a crisis in Washington ! For it was an impossible thing to happen . A USN intel crew with represantatives from the industry spent a week to find out why . After finding it , the whole deal was cancelled and despite Carter still being the President we were guaranteed Block 30 and plus ...

oh yeah , there is a reason why any kind of talks on the future of the US-Turkey relations go nowhere , considering it's like 21 years in arrear for the initial F-15 deliveries , right ? Even before the thing that one of the sides doesn't have a future anyhow ... Even before the thing that the "virus" wasn't there before the '79 , the virus that makes the FBW computers to disagree and that makes the F-16 disintegrate in the air ...

am quite partial to parachute dudes even if situation "forces" me to be "delighted" with the Marines . Any particular thing to rant on Market Garden apart from Montgomery is quite a guy and tried to "fix" the Allied rate of Advance so that Churchill could get his qouta of Balkan operations in 1945 ?

edit : glimpsed through the link . It's just about the standart fare about them Russkies blaming the Capitalists supporting the fascist animals ; but it somehow falls short with the "ascendancy" of the Red Army being clear in 1944 . Had Wehrmacht won in the way it's "supposed" to , the Luftwaffe would have AAM armed jets for Summer '45 , that's not something Churchill would himself cherish .

edit 2 : sorry for my initial impression . ı don't rate any of those highly publicisied bunch of people particularly high . Say , for the the B_lderberg , when they introduced Bill Clinton he was only the weak nominee against His Majesties Bush I and he would lose with all those womanising ready to be discovered by the American Press . Such a glory that he was told be the next President of US a year or two before the actual elections is just a fairy tale that gets to be told only to impress us funny miserable Orientals . And it actually does on people who gets there in the glorious summits of such , which does hurt my poor narrative that them Westies are dumber ...

edit 3:

for the sake of completeness it appears Osprey has a new book about it and it seems this Lord Carrington dude arrives at a bridge captured by the Americans . ı believe it's the day after some major pulled a Thompson on his head and his is the 5th British vehicle to arrive . Anyhow Carrington reports with a classic understatement that some "strange" troops "accidentally" tried to blow up his tank with 'Gelignite' ... It seems the American paratroops mistook his thing as a German Panzer ...

forgive me for this vanity post . For there is a new Turkish TV series that should have been called Rehabilitation . Where even yours truly gets this not particularly important referral . Previously ı have been mentioned in a not particularly noticeable movie , apart from a "supposed presence" in the Game of Thrones .

the thing relevant to history -disregarding however tenous and miniscule the link might be- depends on the thing that people are supposed to be real ; the Series is reliably reformed to have caused a lot of giggling in Lady Vader . Considering the consultant for the background is no other than the intelligence icon , the father of the Voice of the Counter-revolution .

as such the chief baddie looks really cool and ı will keep to refusing to say anything against Ahmet Mekin . Though he should have been cast as Süleyman Seba . Who , according to the rumours , back in 1985 defined the father of the Voice of the Counter-revolution as a son of this country when the discussions reached to a point of some disagreement . Now the guy in question once had a CIA mole arrested back in the 70s and the debate was why he hadn't ended up in a ditch through the hands of the CIA . Seba died this year and what has the father of Voice of the Counter-revolution achieved , apart from creating a justification of the seperatists ?

anyhow ... As said , am barely in . In anycase ı don't resemble any of those people , the "artists" . With regularly gaining fat ı more loke like some pregnant woman . And should perhaps round it up . Maybe with remarks on some odd choices . Say , family name for a protagonist . One would expect the father of the Voice of the Counter-revolution to be aware that the New Turkey has proven Uluabatlı Hasan who fell while raising the Standart on the walls of Istanbul in 1453 was in fact an Ittihad invention and fabrication in 1900s ... Neverminding the glorious scene where the intelligence chief instructs the "Jeune" to fight Evil outta there . With a delivery that created an impression of the Little Imperialist in me , honest to God ... Oh , such courage in the New Turkey to "abandon the NATO" concept that it even impresses the Patriots of old ... America sees Gezi Events evidence enough that the New is utterly uncapable of controlling the old , do you think some flashy TV series will do any good ? Says some guy who has never watched an episode of "Kurtlar Vadisi" in full .

yours truly once again proves right and appears on a Turkish TV series . As a tombstone . Meaning my first name is on the tombstone . Poor guy died young at 42 . Had already warned the world that my part was to be insignificant , not anything worth mentioning . Me , the harbinger of rant , the loser of losers , already outperforming the tombstone -by living longer . By a year or two ...

but then the whole world already knows the series is not interested in the rehabilitation of a long gone past , repair of honour sullied , return of dignity to tainted . Despite the assurances , to boot ... It's just a propaganda routine , with the New Turkey reaching out to the folks behind the unmentionables , with the dizzying self assurance of the smarties that they can like totally teach their history to them . Also serves if the general public ever again needs to be awash in blood thirsty jingoistic nationalism - in case the seperatists fail to see and accept the greatness of the smarties . That's the exact case the seperatists have been on ever since 1999 when the Greeks and the Americans and the rest of the world sold them for the duration , but then this is r16 , right ? ı know not what's the need for this anyhow ; but then it's probably just an imitation of America claiming that it's actually fighting ISIL , as if the very same folk did not read it in American newspapers that the entire borders of the Middle East will be changed . And just like the American variety it roundly insults the brains , the intelligence of the kind of monkeys people call Turks , however slight that mental capacity that might be ...

just in the way that this is once-in-a-lifetime event . The bird of fortune is on the shoulder and we can like totally realize our "imperial ambitions" as if we ever need imperial ambitions . We can just grab the "National Aims" ; the set of "planning" for a post-Ottoman Turkey which -as you know- included Musul ; the borders this country went to war for in 1919 . And what our borders would have been post 1945 had Kemal not been assasinated by 1938 ? Asks the Chief of Intelligence . He asks the chief baddie in the office of the chief baddie ; someplace where the Chief of Intelligence arrived after loading his golden pistol with live ammo . American veterans would have a wry smile or two ...

had Kemal not been assasinated , April 1941 would have seen the the first of 2000+ strong stronk! B-24 raids on Berlin and our borders would have been officially through the rings of Saturn by now . And you know the new Turkey would have hated every bit of it ; considering the Counter-revolution . And the 1984ism ... Had it been the fad back then actually , the new Turkey would have actually wellcomed the way Belgrade was bombed . So that they could teach "true" Islam to the Bosnians so that they could be our slave-drivers on location while we ran the Balkans for the enlightened new-order of the Nazi Germany . All the heroes -the New Turkey daily applauds- were up for a landgrab in the Soviets' ; hand in hand with the glorious Nazi war machine . It took quite a bit to calm them down until Stalingrad and beyond . And why calling it preposterous ? It's the exact thing we are supposed to be doing with Muslim Brotherhood and the Middle East and America ...

loop : Someplace where the Chief of Intelligence arrived after loading his golden pistol with live ammo ? Wonderful . 'Cause you see , before the Chief of Intelligence , the Congregation dude was in . Waving the DVD of the chief baddie and his current love interest in some carnal relationship as some blackmail and the chief baddie calmly took his tie off to throttle the Congregation dude and the bodyguards in the room didn't even begin to offer to help ... Now that the chief baddie had been shot on the shoulder a couple of hours back and had stitches that might just re-open . And kinda open minded , too . Decided both he and the current love interest should take the now dead Congregation dude's advice and enroll in some gym for some work-out ... And the Chief of Intelligence walks in and the chief baddie kinda trembles . Don't know why Esads and Sisis of this world just don't roll over and die when Ankara like tells them to do so .

might be because of the glaringly obvious thing that the smarties are smarting under the fact that they weren't born lucky , as some Zionists . It's so widespread in the Middle East , if ambitious yet unlucky to be born anything but an Israeli , one must work hard . Involves lots of activity in Washington for a share of the action . And then to keep the share one must keep striving to hide the connections between the dots ... As such , we learn it from the TV series that the West started the Syrian Civil War to attract the trouble makers of the world so that they could be slowly and safely be killed from afar . Yet there would be like immediate peace if the ambitions of the new Turkey was satisfied . It's as if Ankara did not pressure the residents of Tel Afar to surrender their weapons to the Peshmerga so that the Kurds could bolt at the first sign of ISIL so that our Sunni Brothers could bath further more in Shia blood without undue effort . The Syrian Civil War wouldn't have started if the Sunni officers of the Syrian Army had not been assured that Turkish Army was but a toy in the past and real today and would come in weeks , if not days . So instead of 1984ism to assure not that the PM was given a US approved timetable of how many days to prayer in the Umeyyad Mosque of Damascus or something we hear Americans are confused and just need a little shove in the right direction so that the New Turkey can defeat the Israeli - Iranian Alliance of Chaos in the Middle East . Not a word on the Saudi - Iranian alliance though , in which Riyad gave Sanaa of Yemen to Shiite militias in return for lack of aggression from Iranian advisors as the US now has to bomb ISIL . Iranians surviving the West for over two millenia as of today with stealing anything that's not tied down , that deal seems to have fallen through though with El Kaide now battling the Houthi ...

a little nudge on the Americans to make them see ? As if they are not the ones who invited the Iranians to divide the Middle East into approved zones of influence as Putin would be defeated by Saakashvili and there would be nobody left for this country to cry Mama . Thank Dabya to be a spineless jerk and hesitate to send in the F-22s to cowe them Russians back . America -as an institution and stuff- wants to drink some Turkish blood . But this is not the kind of the talk you would see on Turkish TVs ; the State Channel had this morning show that like entirely opposes Bravo Sierra of yoga and stuff . And we see these guys who talk of the Islamic alternative . Can't challenge the value of standing strong and keeping the moral up in face of illness but ı don't have the 2 or 3 hours to understand whether they are about to talk about the "strong breath of the imam" . Which kinda regularly involves taking the Devil out of 15 year old girls and the "later" availability comes assured with blackmail of telling the parents ... Wait , did ı just see a bulldozer while these two guys are talking of repairing the body ? That's it then ! Western ideas are stupid , especially like liking trees and flowers hence being for Conservation hence opposing construction . Context ? Some municipality in Istanbul wants to build a mosque in a woods , so that the reservation for it to be a collection area -in a case of the expected big earthquake- can be removed . It appears the Istanbul municipalities have taken over some 36 parcels of land to build mosques on them , yet decided against and allowed malls and the like instead ; as soon as they have control on the area . The municipality says that too much tolerance is a bad thing . Well , fearing Allah is always a good thing ; works better than TV series .

especially of the kind that insist the New Turkey is as "patriotic" ...

and of course it's yet to be seen whether the TV series will delve on why my stupid lap-top insists on converting first to Tahoma , then to Calibri while writing Turkish characters when am so about writing in Arial TUR , size 11 ? Will not write in Calibri , ı hate Calibri . Starting from the thing that the glorious Congregation prepared fake documents dated 2003 in that font , while Microsoft started packing it in 2007 or something . Am ı an idiot or do ı get to be framed for writing them all up or do ı get to see it's just a software thing ?

yesterday ı went shopping for my Mum ; bought small glass jars for varieties of spice . A trivial post this is ; would have added as an edit but the post above is already long . First of all , three times in a row now , people who ask for directions mimic my behaviour ... Did it become "clear" that ı "obviously" "exaggerate" while giving directions so that if filmed for some reason with people ı have never seen before and will never see afterwards ? Can't believe still poised to be a threat so that must be removed after approval from the US ... Spineless jerks , them Americans ! Even when they have the DNA profile stuff , too ... %#**#^½!!## America !

soon after that me going home and ı see this guy walking on the street and suddenly almost jumping out of the way of those two Easterners coming by . The two walked , rather pleased of the way they scowled and scared the hell out of people . All smiles they were as we passed each other . Was always feeble , wasn't much surprised that they were so ready for me jumping out of the way . One of the security guards back in the days when ı was a museum guide (he had served as a Commando in the East and was blatantly Right wing , too) once overheard guys in some bus talking in Kurdish and slammed some iron bar as a warning . It's almost a decade now and am not sure , but he might have had his hand wrapped for a week or two ... This is the "Peace Process" of Turkey , much vaunted and much applauded and turns out to be bound to fall on its backside . Instead of correcting the wrongs -which were aplenty- the stuff has been sold as the way to a newer and better Turkey . Instead of increased individual rights for all all it boils down to is "Kurds are good, 'cause they can steal Oil for Ankara." Instead of respect for all stripes of people , the cataloguing of the crimes of the Turkish State and the simultaneous strengthening of the seperatists simply proves the Turks are not men and the Easterners are men and Westerners will jump out of the way of the Easterners . It's time for Easterners to take revenge . And enjoy the ride .

much "soul searching" after the recent spike in the violence . Much "old" language back in circulation where the State Media talks of terrorists , traitors and scum . And not much reference to the way the seperatists understand the deal ; they are supposed to create their autonomous regions with the Goverment suppressing any idea of opposition . Considering the seperatists want half of whatever that remains , too . The Goverment , naturally , understands it in some other way ; counting on the Islamists of Kurdish origin to keep the seperatists down while the reach of New Turkey extends whereever there are some Sunnis . As the siege of Ayn-al-Arab went on and on , the seperatists and the jihadist Kurds finally clashed . The spike is between the Party and the seperatists , considering Turkey is dead or something .

and of course , it's just natural that the talk now is not about the greatness of the New Turkey . Strange , in some way , when the smarties do not talk of how they stand up to the West , how they defeat the old and "this nation" is not just the 50% that votes for the A-K-P . Happens all the times when the smarties need people to die for them ; and they would be vulnerable if the casualties are not more across the board than -you know- their voter base ... The Voice of the Counter-revolution sounds alarmed . She's concerned people are like happy when the National Football team gets thrashed since it's a team assembled these days when everything is new .

further assistance to my paranoid sense and stuff ; when ı go orbital on America , there will be no more of this soccer nonsense . Where is the foot in the football Americans play ?

the Voice of the Counter-revolution ; her surname suggests she might be wed to a manager of Galatasaray , but ı can't be sure . Leads one to wonder about the the team that had so much international success . My dislike for Galatasaray is actually deepened by the personal stuff . ı was in the front yard of the school in a sports class , trying to play football on the day Galatasaray beat Neuchatel of Switzerland 5-0 . Those were the days ; you would be walking down the street all alone with nobody in sight and not a car , not even a sound . Then suddenly there would be a magnified roar of "Goal!" and all those people in the coffee houses watching the latest match on TV would be jubilant and that cat , the only living thing you had seen in the street , would get into a slow run -alarmed by the noise . Wasn't that much of a thing for me , all those victories on the pitch didn't improve my life not one bit . Not even my fussball skills . Could not play but had to play . The PT guys could simply not let you to sit , unactive ... My successes throughout 1982-89 were

event 1 ) this guy who was perhaps good enough to play in the school-team got the ball and crossed the entire field but extended too much . ı kicked the ball and it went out . Slowly and slowly , but the feeling was good .

event 2 ) ı scored an own goal . A goal is a goal .

ı would have performed much better if left standing as a goal-post . In the front yard the goal posts would be made out of properly placed dustbins ; immense arguments whether any ball that went over them was a goal or was not . ı was taller than the average dustbin , could have saved dozens of goals . Might not be a success but the third time ı contacted with a ball and imparted any kind of velocity was when ı randomly kicked the ball and watched in horror as it flew and flew . The flight vector was straight to the window of the Girls' bathroom on the first floor , as it flew ı was already thinking about the money ı would have to save to pay for the broken glass . A miracle ! It went through the ventilation section left open . ı never doubt Luke Skywalker putting a torpedo down that 2x2m shaft of the Death Star ; ı did something similar ! The giggling girls could not give the ball back as it had landed in one of those partitions , the cubicles if you will . Had to take it myself ; girls' bathrooms are just like boys' bathrooms .

the event 2 was actually even worse . The ball was coming at me and ı hit , instead of bracing for impact . Nothing extra special , there would be a match in the front yard in every lunch break , there would be at least one similar move everyday . But a girl (in fact some chick) happened to watch 5 floors up , maybe for 15 seconds as she was about to take her seat in the class . Instead of cheering my foolish score people were like silent ; the only guy hollering was yet to spot the chick . It was embarrassing ; God tests one in so many ways . How could ı know ı would be like eternally accused of intentionally holding back ? Maybe it was my insistence that it had been over the dustbin , so unvalid ...

and perhaps one must ask the father of the Voice of the Counter-revolution whether the success of Galatasaray was part and parcel of the creation of the New Turkey ? With its competitor Fenerbahçe firmly identified with the State and utterly unable to win any games in Europe and yet Galatasaray always scoring . The dear seperatist leader confessed his fandom for Galatasaray and millions and stuff of seperatists all converted ! Hafız Esad ordered celebrations in Syria when Galatasaray won the UEFA cup ; was this the beginning of the move to invade from within with claims of the Republic would fall and father Esad played that game to see what would happen just like the son Esad would call the PM a brother ? Or was it an order straight from America so that Congregation members in the glorious team could create influence to ease the Counter-revolution ? Indeed a pertinent question for a study of WW III with the recent tale of hopes of assured victory over Dortmund , currently the worst team of Bundesliga and the referees not chiming in and Galatasaray losing 4-0 ? Can it be that the spineless West can finally get its act together and by refusing any kind of relief can cause trouble , a spark to burn down all ?

but then there's always the conspiracy angle to accuse somebody else . The New Turkey has so much polished the Peace process that people feel stuck to it ; they urge calm so that this country can keep to selling Iraqi oil , instead of treating people as people . This journalist on this morning news programme warns the audience to tremble and come to themselves . The phrase is from a monument some 1300 years old . Readily means that the Turks , those criminal oppressors of poor Kurds , should not kill Turkish conscripts to frame heroic Kurds so that there will be more war and more Turks will die . In 2014 , so many years after the New Turkey defeated any conspiracy all by itself and suddenly can not cope !? ı hope this journalist will not utter how proud he is to be a Turk ... When the world decides it's time and the Party discovers brotherhood in Islam is sort of overrated and the Party discovers one Turk indeed equals the world , Turk is good .

and ı miss the old days , too . The times when people would be like "Whut?" at many of the things ı would post . It's a shame that ı don't get the same reaction nowadays , because people are like it might well be truth 'cause it's like patently obvious and questioning the stuff would merely be banal . ı curse the Arab Spring for going sour and makin' me look like true and makin' my prophecies and stuff look like countin' for somethin'. And mind you , my understanding and writing of English has not improved one single iota since 2008 , the year ı joined CFC . Hence this non-stop ranting merely increases the odds ı will get infracted instead of making a time capsule of sorts that will break the hearts of the readers of the 22nd Century , or something ... Considering proven to be right at times and seeing stuff happen kinda breaks my heart , hurting me already ; was supposed to be 50% and a bit more right , not a bit less than [classified]% right .

so to speak , this entire ISIL business is just a segment of the stuff that has been designed by the US after the end of the Cold War and the fall of the Soviets . Based on a handy instrument of the said Cold War era and taking the targeting of my beloved and cursed country as a central pillar of the entire projection of the World in the 21st Century and beyond . Turkey being a target indeed , if not the target . It of course involves Western religious radicalism , but we won't be alive to see those parts transpiring ; meaning all those stuff about men bringing about the Apoca-whatever because they can will not affect us at all , since we won't be left around - we being some monkeys with a false religion called Islam and stuff .

and for the non-believers and the like , who happens to be a "majority" of sorts and stuff , there is the glory of designing the future where Capitalism rules supreme and the planners can look forward to the comfy chairs in some Boardroom because they like plotted the downfall of this country . Since we don't really fit in with such "secular" stuff either . Especially as a Nation-State with institutional traditions which inevitably involves some code of honour ; especially as the Nation-in-Arms that defeated the early version of this New World Order stuff at least in battle in 1920-22 . There's bound to be some scoffing at this ; with ideas that the Anglo-French partnership of 1918 falls mighty short of the glory of Americana of 1991 , considering the first was like bled white in the Great War while the whiteness in America tends to be some Cop who throttles some N____ 'cause that street vendor is begging for breath and life hence there's nothing wrong in some fun but ı digress . The Turkish humility -no doubt caused by losing an Empire in an agony that took something like 3 centuries- similarly encourages such planners dying for comfy chairs in boardrooms ; and we have been losing like longer than the US -for starters- has even existed ... Can't do anything about it afterall .

apart from getting real annoyed . Say , you might have heard that the Protocols of the Elders of Zion was found out to be an Ohrana invention in the Istanbul of 1921 . And that not to prove it was all Russians' fault but taking advantage of a remark about the plight of the Whites with the memories of the disasters (that befell the migrations of 1912-13 after the terrible Balkan Wars) fresh in mind . So that people could be induced to give up , so that the people could roll over and die , so that the Greek Armies could be taken off the field and sent North , so that the Orthodox Church could be given a boost and the Godless Commies driven off the face of the world ... If you think you are a Capitalist and you ain't yet blaiming us for Communism , you got still a long way to go .

never minding the little thing about considering any half way capable dude as some masquerading none-Moslem hiding his true beliefs ; some guy who would need convincing that some guy named Golovinsky translated and re-arranged a French language book of 1864 against Napoleon III to replace Witte , a liberal leader of the Russian Goverment ; and this product was solely meant for a one time use only . Even if a certain Winston Churchill had been in the newspapers about a "conspiracy for the overthrow of the civilization and for the reconstitution of society on the basis of arrested development, of envious malevolence, and impossible equality ... the mainspring of every subversive movement ... gripped the Russian people by the hair of their heads and [has] became practically the undisputed masters of that enormous empire." Apparently in Illustrated Sunday Herald , April 8th, 1920 . See , you get called Jew and you are expected to like it , considering being a Turk is even worse . And this is nothing infractable but a depiction of the past as it sorta happened . Then being stupid , you are expected to give up Russia even if you don't like actually have it . And you do that with giving up Turkey ; possibly with shooting Kemal on the dinner table . You are not expected to resist that good intentioned proposal , because Turks are nothing . And you might be welcomed as a subject in Palestine where the same Winston Churchill is building up a Zionist state to protect the Suez Canal from a resurgence of French ambitions in the Middle East ; 'cause you are halfway smart and gotta be - being a Turk is bad , very bad . Because the offer to erase Anti-Semitism through discrediting a particular publication on the Times of August 17, 1921 was the best thing to have . Instead of sharpening bayonets and getting deployed for the Battle of Sakarya . Thus refused Mr. Churchill will be hating you like people are rarely hated , will offer two battleships that were scrapped after the Washington treaty of 1922 in 1943 so that your country will get into war and he will have you swindled twice over the same exact thing .

hating Turks for beings Turks is in the blood of the Western strategic thinking .
