Does Tradition have any value on larger maps? The aqueduct/culture building/+15% food in your first 4 cities is pretty useful on smaller maps, but on huge maps it's not very worthwhile.

Yes it has especially if you are surrounded by city states . THis is a verry usefulfl situation for culture victories..

Because you can stay small and built up you're culture withouth having trouble of agressive neighbours.

Make sure you pick good city locations a city with a food resource and a luxury so you can get happiness and can keep growing

growing growing growing thats the key here

tradition tall empire can be a lot more difficult the larger the map you play.. as soon as the ai begins taking out other ais. by mid-late game there's often one or two who have dozens of cities and it's not easy to survive against the raw production/gold power of that with just four large cities.

If you go for a puppet empire it isn't a problem. However, that's a LOT of puppets which will make happiness an issue.

I find it very easy actually. Just a few ranged / artillery units lay waste to AI attackers. As long as you can fill up 5 policy trees you've won the game.
