Questions about Civilization Revolution?

lol.. umm thanks?
Well at least SOMEONE bothered to reply..
Here some more questions, if yah up for it :p..!

Will the game be more 'ironed-out' so to speak? I mean we don't need another 'patch-the-patch' thing as seen with Civ4+ :(
Console games don't usually get patches, so they want it to be as solid as possible.
TOTAL vista compatibility?
What for? This game is *NOT* for the PC.
The appearance of some of the leaders (Cleo for exam), hot? or just a step down from porn :/?
Depends on your definition of "hot" and/or "porn". ;)
Graphics... suitable? or just laughable? (Cartoony)
Similar to Civ4 (imho).
A playable demo? soon?...
It was still pre-alpha when Dan and I played it earlier this month....
Any old fav music from Civ 1,2,3 or 4 in game?
Not that I noticed, but then, I wasn't really listening to the music. ;)
"Modder-Friendly" for Pc?
This is *NOT* a PC game.
System Requirements?
XBox360, PS3, or DS. Wii coming late next year.

lol.. umm thanks?
Um, you're welcome? :mischief::D

Missed a few...

Hmm... A Civ list,
http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=6117509&postcount=1

some Civilopedia info, a bit on changed game settings for us old dorks as well as a new introduction for newbies.
That will come out in my multi-part preview in part and in some capacity(ies)...

Especially a bit civilopedia info would be great on each civ.
It won't be for every civilization, but watch for Part 3 of my said preview for some of that. :yup:

I'm curious to hear about the different scenarios. It seems like that's the part where Revolutions can really make things different and set itself apart from the PC series.
Other than the "Game of the Week" which will be a series of scenarios of a sort, I'm not certain what scenarios you're referring to (unless I really zoned out when the presence of one or more of them were announced...)

What happened to Persia?
I don't know any specifics on why Persia or any civilization not in this game was excluded. I will say that I don't believe for a moment that it is anything 'against' Persia or otherwise.

When will we be getting... a more concrete release date?
As we get closer to Spring 2008 I expect the release date will get more specific for all but the Wii. As the Wii is to come out next fall, once we get closer to that season a more definitive release date is likely to become public.

I'd like to ask if it would be possuilbe to have a British rather then an English civ this time?
I would say that the answer to that is no: the identities of the sixteen civilizations are set.

Wtf!! Not PC Game.. omg.. I am soo wasting my time actually asking questions, my bro is like the console freak lolz.
But I aint even going to touch a console.. so crushed my dreams LoLZ.. :(.

DanQ and Padma, you're checks are on the way. ;)

BTW, we are planning a demo for the spring.

But I aint even going to touch a console.. so crushed my dreams LoLZ.. :(.
That's what I said before I heard of CivRev coming (and not to the PC), and my shifting position was only reaffirmed when I saw -- and had the chance to play -- the game in person. I've never owned a console platform and can count on two hands the number of hours I've played on any combined in my life to date.

DanQ and Padma, you're checks are on the way. ;)
Sweet!

BTW, we are planning a demo for the spring.
Nice. :goodjob:

How is that to be delivered, e.g. through "Xbox LIVE Marketplace"?

Hey guys,
The official community site for Civ Rev isn't up yet, but Civ Fanatics pretty much blows anything I could ever create out of the water. So I'm coming to you guys with a very simple question to start: When I kick off the Civ Rev community site, what would you like to hear about? Are there any features or aspects of the game you are wondering about that you'd like me to focus on? What questions would you like to grab Sid and ask him?

Good folks, 2K Elizabeth said, "When I kick off the Civ Rev community site, what would you like to hear about?" She never said she was going to answer anything here.

Now, when the CivRev site is up and running, I'd like to:

(1) read After Action Reports of completed games/scenarios by the test team.
(2) learn about the UI for the DS and Wii systems.
(3) learn how saves will be managed on the DS, particularly in regard to the downloadable content (e.g. game of the week).

Two questions:
1. What happened to Persia? Civ isn't civ without Persia! :(
2. Are you really gonna answer our questions? If so, then answer some!

OFF TOPIC: Just out of curiousity, does anybody here like my sig?

i am really, honestly and truly going to answer your questions. i'm flying to maryland to meet with sid and firaxis for a week in december, and i'll be using all your questions there as the basis of everything i do. and then, after i get that all sorted, you'll start getting a whole lot of information.

so keep asking questions!

Screw it LoLZ.. here are some more questions:

Max unit count?

All upgrade unit promotion information?

Religions?

Army Formations?

Civ Rev. for PSP..Rumours or real?

16 Civilizations.. more = better :(...

Civ Rev. website.. Omfg.. can we get it going?!

Remember, the official sites ALWAYS take forever to set up.

Umm why wont they release Civ Rev on PC?..
This has been addressed in a number of previews/interviews, but I'll quote a recent one here with the game's Producer Barry Caudill:

.. we could have made a game like this for the PC but we would have confused our marketplace, because all of the Civ fans would have been expecting Civ5 and they would have gotten Civ Revolution, it would have confused some it would have made some guys mad, and made some people pull away from the series. By bringing it over to the console, we can make a clean break and start fresh.

Max unit count?
Hmmm. I don't know if there is one.

All upgrade unit promotion information?
I will be detailing that in any upcoming part of my preview for the game.

Religions?
There is no religion system in CivRev.

Army Formations?
Three units of the same type (e.g. Phalanx) can be used to form an army.

Civ Rev. for PSP..Rumours or real?
Rumour at best as far as I'm concerned.

16 Civilizations.. more = better :(...
I don't agree that "more = better" . It's possible, but it's as equally possible that "more = bogged down". Balance is key. In my opinion, 16 is a good number of civilizations for a Civ game. I'd rather 16 quality civilizations, which is what I'm seeing in CivRev, than more but of less or no quality.

Civ Rev. website.. Omfg.. can we get it going?!
Ah, the official one? I know that this question is not directed at me as with all others :D, but I will say that I have no knowledge of its status at all (other than what I can see of it as you can). That is also a question for 2K, not Firaxis.

YAY!!!!!!!! no religion for Gandhi to get pissed off at me for!:D

How do you know?

She's never answered a single question. DanQ had to step in to answer my question, what about all the other questions?

I'm not answering questions yet -- I'm collecting and taking them to Firaxis and when my community site goes up, I'll answer them all there!

What about wonders? Are there any infos on the ingame wonders yet?

What about wonders? Are there any infos on the ingame wonders yet?
I learned a bit of information on some of them, yes. That data will be included in an upcoming part of my ongoing preview of the game.

Communism isn't a Civic. ;)
