Interesting... some earlier game art had an African Cleopatra (yes, I know, Egypt is in Africa!), but the current one makes more sense - Greek with generations of in-breeding. One thought this brings up - in civ2 there were male and female leaders for each civ - in civ3 will there just be one leader? I remember researching some of the female leaders from civ2 - it was a valuable historical tangent.

Is anyone else getting the idea that there won't be any miltary units in the ancient era with an attack value of 6 (like the catapult of civII)?

Both the Babylonian and Egyptian civs have special units with a 2/1/2 rating.

Any unit with a defense value of 2 (CivII phalanx/archer) will be hard to beat by any ancient unit we know of so far. Hmmmm....

It appears that the civ of the week is running in historical order. If this is true, we can expect Greeks, Persians, Chinese and Aztecs in the next few weeks.

The right side of the page has the list of upcoming Civs. That's propably the order they will appear...

Upcoming Civs:

Ermm - I am a bit worried that the babylonians and the egyptians have, in esscence the same unique unit

Hopefully theyll ahve different hitpoints or firepower, ummmmmm, hopefully -

I'm thinkin' that the whole special unit affair is simply a way of 'unique'zizing the various tribes. They obviously aren't meant as major combat tools. Then again, if the Egyptians don't have horses (resource?) they'll have fun riding their chariots, while the Babylonians wipe them from the earth.

Ahh but if the babs dont have iorn they'll be gone. But whats the point of even haveing a unique unit if there all the same?

I dont think the babs will get the same thing because like spy said whats the point if they all get the same thing.

Ok it looks like in ancient times a regular unit will have either all 1's or two 1's and one 2. Where a "special" unit will have two 2's and a one.

What this means is that if there are more than 3 civs with special units during ancient times then at least 2 of then will have the same combination. The only possible combianations with two 2's and a one are 2 2 1, 2 1 2. and 1 2 2.

That could be why the egyptian and babylonian units have the same combination.

Does anyone know where there is a list of all the civ-specific units and thier atributes?

Well then WHATS THE POINT building a special unit! Even if you DID build yhem they wouldnt have any bonus aginst another special. Oh whats the point of even makeing them now.
