Was Arabia's start bias changed?

I had a beautiful desert arabian empire last night. Won on standard pang immortal for the first time. It was awesome! DF+Petra, bazaars giving me double luxes to sell for gold/gpt, longer caravan routes, and buying spaceship parts with gold!
 
Hmmm. Well I've gotten grassland a very large percentage of games. Not sure what would cause that. And no I didn't turn start bias off.
 
Even if Mecca is not located in the desert with the start. It's almost a given that a big chunk of desert will be nearby though.
 
I've never played as Arabia - what's the preferred VC, science? (G&K)

Hmmm, I notice this with Morocco. I wonder if this is in response to OP petra starts.
