I've had this problem since 2001 or 2002, and I never really bothered to get to the bottom of things untill now.
You see, I want to start Civ IV servers on multiplayer, and etc. Now, I can join every single game just fine, but when I try to host a multiplayer game (Ditto for any other online game that I try to host a server on), well, no one joins because no one can see it due to my firewall/can't join due to my firewall.
The only known firewall I have is Windows Firewall. If I have any other firewall, I have no knowledge of it, and I only use two things that could be considered remotely anti-virus, Spyware: Search & Destroy (I'm 99% sure this isn't causing it), and Windows Defender (I'm positive this isn't causing it)
And yes, I checked, all the games I want to start multiplayer servers on are in my Windows Firewall's exception list.
Edit: It appears that Linksys routers have their own firewall. I have concluded that this is the source of why I can't host games. Any help with this?
