D&D 3.5 Play-by-post: discussion (and possibly recruitment)

...Okay, we're starting to hit the roof here. Unless someone steps forward to be a DM, it'll have to be Neverwonagame3 or flyingchicken - I'm withdrawing my DM offer (I really want to play).

I vote we start somewhere around levels 4-7.

I vote for level 1, I vote for more then a one-shot, and I will DM if flyingchicken doesn't want it.

From experience, I just don't think more than a one-shot adventure will, realistically, happen; but it's up to voting. :)

Maybe we should start with a one-shot, then if people are interested we can keep going then?

I'd be in as my good old trusty gnome sorcerer: Tim the Enchanter. :p I could possibly DM, but I would rather play.

I changed my mind: I'm going to play as a dwarf duel-wielding a pair of Dwarven war-axes.

I'll start working on a character now.

Sorry for the double post, but what character creation system are we using?

EDIT: Stupid question, sorry.

what level do we start at and how much $$ do we start with for items and such?

DON'T POST YOUR ALIGNMENTS. Alignment isn't something you can tell from looking at someone. Send your character sheets to the DM, and rather just post prose descriptions here.

I can't bring myself to bring a character with any real IC motivation while sticking in a party, but character coming.

Yeah, I'd love to play. I was the one DMing the previous game, but it died because I couldn't handle the game by myself without my co-DM (coughcoughcarmen). If you have a game, you need to insist that all players already know how to play, and multiple DMs, all of whom can and will update, are helpful.

Creating character now!

That needs some work, NWAG, starting with your math and belief that copper powder is acceptable currency. Look at a proper blank character sheet for guidance on other bits.

I'm willing to round down the money to 1, but anything else?

Uh, if I understood that correctly: you don't like having a character that has a perfectly good reason to adventure if that character sticks with a party, implying that if your character, however, has absolutely no business adventuring you'll be okay with it being in a party?

I can play a cardboard character, or I can try to play a more logically made character, but I don't like arbitrary restrictions when playing the latter.

I've edited my previous post, and reposting here. Can somebody do me a favor and tell me anything still wrong? I used a character-creation program originally, so I assumed it would not be too inaccurate.

EDIT: Made some more alterations for equipment.
