ryanjames' mods-Civilisations, small and large

This seems a bit better

What DoctorMcGann said. Darken the base, lighten the icon, or change the colors somewhat.

Some thoughts:-

---

Kingdom Of Cyprus (Peter I)
Start Bias: Coastal
Capital: :c5capital: Nicosia
UA: A Hundred Thousand Bezants
When founding a City, all tiles immediately adjacent to it are immediately improved where possible. Cities generate +2 :c5gold: Gold per turn for each Defensive or Military building in the :c5capital: Capital.
UU: Templar (replaces Knight)
Unlike the Knight it replaces, the Templar is faster and generates :c5gold: Gold per kill. It also has the unique promotion, "Templique Salomonici", that allows it to generate +3 :c5greatperson: Great Merchant points per turn when garrisoned in a non-Occupied or Puppeted City.
UU: Crusader Ship (replaces Caravel)
Slightly slower than the Caravel it replaces, but has a higher :c5strength: Combat Strength (25 :c5strength: vs. 20). Additionally, starts with Coastal Raider I and II, as well as the unique promotion, "Alexandrian Crusade", that grants a +25% :c5strength: Combat Bonus when attacking for each adjacent friendly Land Unit, whether embarked or not. Upgrades to Ironclad.

---

It's a slightly different take on the place, focusing almost solely on its existence as a crusader kingdom and the fact that the Templars were not only the richest knightly order by far, but also the inventors of early banking techniques. The UA is even a reference to how much the Templars paid Richard the Lionheart for Cyprus in the first place! =]

EDIT: Specified a few points.

That's- a civ i want

I'd rather not solely focus on the kingdom of Cyprus, the playstyle should, but I'd like to maybe have a more Turkish or modern UB, a bank replacement maybe? I'd like to increase gold focus, so I'm open to any more suggestions going down that line.

Okay. How about this:-

UB: Millet (replaces Bank)
Standard Bank benefits, but only has 1 Merchant Specialist slot. Additionally, all buildings that generate :c5faith: Faith generate +2 :c5gold: Gold, and all Specialists generate +2 :c5faith: Faith. Generates +2% additional :c5gold: Gold for every Courthouse in the Empire.

---

A millet, for those wondering, isn't technically a building. Rather, it's more of a system, specifically a system of local-level religious courts implemented by the Ottomans. The millets were actually quite powerful and reasonably autonomous, though that changed by the 19th century. As a bank replacement, it's pretty reasonable if you combine it with faith. Also, it replaces the Crusader Ship. Obviously. =]

It could work, though I may increase the military focus.

However, how much is the Millet a part of Cypriot history? I'd like to find something unique to Cypriot turks, rather than a more general Ottoman building.

It seems that I have had a request for a Palatinate idea, ha, I should probably stop brainstorming for now, that makes 4 planned civilisations!

UA-"Calvinist stronghold"

When a city state is converted to your religion, gain an influence boost. Libraries, universities, public schools and custom houses yield faith

UU-"Elector"

Great merchant replacement. When it initiates a trade agreement with a city state, convert that city state to your religion.

UB-"Heidelberg University"

oxford university replacement that may be built immediately and gives a free university when built. Has two merchant specialist slots besides normal bonuses. (Heidelberg is the oldest university in Germany)

Wait, +2 Faith from every Specialist potentially in every city? That'd be like, loads and loads of Faith. Of course, it'd be too late to actually found a religion, but damn if it wouldn't drastically improve your religious game.

Well, yes, that's sort of the point - it boosts your faith game for when you inevitably purchase a boatload of Great Scientists and Engineers because of course you went Tradition/Rationalism, you're playing on Deity, why would you not do that? =]

I'm not sure if I want an immediate faith focus, plus I'm planning something similar for the Chavin.

Any other UB ideas, preferably a distinctly Turkish Cypriot UB?

Er... gimme a bit, I'll think of something. =]

Also, if anyone is willing to do leader screen artwork for the Mossi Empire and the Palatinate, I'd be very happy!

You mean the Country Palatinate of the Rhine?

Yes, I recently had a request from someone to do it, there's not one already in development is there?

Dammit, Empress Banana. I told you I would do it! :p

Go ahead, of course, but we may one day overlap.

Oh, well, how much of it have you actually done if any, I mean, perhaps you could help us with ours :p

Ummm... JFD can complete a civ in about one day. More importantly, i think he can actually mod one day.

I found out the Mask wasn't Mossi, it was from a similar group, so here's a new icon (it's meant to be Yennega, mythical horse lady who will probably also be the leader)

Also, JFD, would you be willing to develop a palatinate mod with me?
