Another newbie question
Can you upgrade units once they are put in an army? My last game I couldn't do that...

They can promote (regular to veteran to elite), but you can't replace 'em or upgrade 'em.

Thanks for answering. Well, I guess armies can become to rigid in their traditions, like ww1 mass infantry attacks, and this aspects reflects this.

Not a bad way of looking at it. I suspect armies would be too powerful within the game if you could continually upgrade them.

Assuming you've got the military academy built, you could always take that army and disband it in a city, and get shields for it.

I keep them around, along with my *Elite units, for "ceremonial" purposes.
