How to steal Tech?

I've built embassies, the CIA wonder and sent a spy to the Zulu capital. Now how on earth do I steal tech from them? Or can't it be done in Civ3?

Simply, select the Espionage tab in the bottom right (the E) and choose the civilization. Then select "Use Spy" and "Steal Technology."

or double click the little star next to their capital city's name.

Jesus, they couldn't have hidden it better, could they?! I hadn't even noticed those little letters in the bottom right. And I did read the manual.. was it even IN there?

Sigh.

Finally decided to give it a go yesterday.
Managed to get a spy into Abe's capital.
Thought I'd try and steal some tech.
I got some options ...

• Quick. Absolutely guaranteed both to fail, and to start an international incident. Cost = 1021
• Cautious. Roughly the same odds as being struck by lightening. Cost = 2350
• Stealth. Go on! Give it a go. What harm can it do, really? (hehe). Cost = 5833

...and besides the enemy unit location option, this is why spies are worthless. Bastards ask for an arm, a leg, and vital organs for their services. May as well buy/trade the tech, not only is it guaranteed, but prevents war and sometimes improves relations.

Spy is not that bad. It let you know what type of units your opponent has and how many of them. I would love those info before I enter into a major war with the AI
