I think there was a thread about those same icons popping up on peoples' desktops. I guess it was determined to be adware or something?

Did you remove Mozilla and then reinstall it?

Have you installed any extensions?

You should be able to right click on the toolbar and select "customise". If not then maybe it is some kind of malware.

Spyware scan runs at 4AM every day, not detecting anything. But it's gone now, for the moment. I restarted the computer. Should I worry about it?

What scanners do you use?

It shouldnt be an extension - since you would have remembered installing it.

It is the first time I ve seen something like that for Mozilla Firefox

I must say though, that those icons on that toolbar resembles the winXP style icons.
But it couldnt be an MSN toolbar ?

I d say that is ad-ware.
I'd also like to say - what a load of stuff you have in the taskbar. You have too much ram on your hands?

OT:
@homeyg: clear your pm box. Tried to send you one about your sig. Tis Floyd - Another brick in the wall

Right click the Windows taskbar and goto Task Manager (or CTRL-ALT-DEL). See if there's any odd looking exe programs running. If there are, you can search for it, and delete it. Be sure to check at Process Library for the exe name. If you find the EXE file, search for it on your computer. Be sure to update Ad-Aware, or SpyBot S&D or whatever you're using.
