binkw32.dll error
Skotie -
I just purchased Civ III for my son and after installing it and trying to run it received a message that said "cannot run Civ III as binkw32.dll was not found". Having read the postings on this and other websites re this problem it is clear that other people have this same error but its not clear that there is a solution. Per your request my computer info is as follows: Operating System: Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_rtm.040803-2158) Processor: Intel Pentium III, ~790MHz Memory: 128MB RAM Page File: 190MB used, 117MB available DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) Display Devices --------------- Card name: NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 Model 64/Model 64 Pro (Microsoft Corporation) Manufacturer: NVIDIA Display Memory: 32.0 MB Driver Name: nv4_disp.dll Driver Version: 6.14.0010.5673 (English) Sound Devices ------------- Description: Creative Sound Blaster PCI Manufacturer ID: 1 Product ID: 100 Type: WDM Driver Name: es1371mp.sys Driver Version: 5.01.2501.0000 (English) Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated. If your binkw32.dll isn't good or you don't have it is try to replace it.
