I was the Germans. The Babylonians was still perceiving Gunpowder as "wondrous weapon". Their pathetic excuse for a civilization - they had only 7 cities, and they didn't even bother to name them! - was a perfect target for my armies. Or that's what I thought...
I began by making a road to the nearest Babylonian city. I sent my tanks there and attacked the city. There were only musketeers there, so I excepted I would win. Guess what? My tanks lost! "No need to worry, it won't occur again" I thought and sent out an Artillery. Unfortunately it was ambushed by Babylonian Crusaders and demolished! I sent a Settler to create a railroad, but it was killed by Crusaders too. I tried to bribe them, but Babylonians were democratic and you can't bribe democratic units... Then other civs appeared (Carthagine and Americans) and gave me even more trouble. No, I wasn't at war with them. But... you'll see. I sent out tanks. Surprise surprise! Road is blocked by Carthago units. I bypassed (is it the right word?) them and went to attack the city. But then I discovered that Carthago built a city just next to my road! They got angry when I moved my tank nearby, so I had to walk around, too. In the next turn Americans declared war on Babylonians. You think it's good, right? I will be able to defeat Babylonians more easily? You're wrong. I finally bombed the city a few times and sent out my tank to kill the remainders. Voila - I defeated all the musketeers! The City is undefended now! Yippee! Americans enter the city and occupy it... Now that was unfriendly. I did all the work! This city should be MINE! The same happened with another city. Isn't that annoying?

Ouch. Sounds like some pretty bad luck there.

Unlucky mate, why is it that on some games everything that can go wrong does go wrong? Suppose thats why its quite realistic in that respect. |
