Exclamation Russians Topple Napoleon...

I just finished playing Napoleonic Europe Conquests Scenario and I have to say its the most fun I've had on Civ before.

I started as the Russians and assessed the situation to realise that being a considerably strong nation I had a good chance of contesting the victory points win in the time span allowed.

So I started my victory location conquest on the neighbouring Prussians. Their land consisted of most of Germany and East Belgium. They had a few little gems to take being Berlin and Frankfurt which once taken gave me a considerable boost in victory points.

I allied with Austria my other neighbours for a little assurrance that there is not two opponents at the same time and kept out of the French battle. That is until the Prussians were gobbled up without an inch of help from any nations, pesky Germans...

Looking strong after conquering the Prussians and only keeping the cities with Victory Locations and razing all other survivors had caused me to have a bad reputation in the diplomatic community. But no one dare take on the might of the Russian Cossack.

You see the beauty about the Cossack was that although the other countries had worthy and if not stronger units then the Cossack, they did not possess 3 move turns every go. Meaning I could attack that one extra time and also traverse the rough Russian landscape to Europe for the long battles ahead alot quicker then they could rush into battle.

After many battles and a few leaders being created, I created 3 armies to move towards France to take their valued VP locations. I ran into some heavy resistance and realised that their might Imperial Guards were ripping my Cossacks and Russian Guards to pieces and just didn't fall like the Prussians did with ease. In saying that I managed to conquer 2 VP cities of them and came close with 15 turns to go for the win.

I decided to make a peace treaty with France and hoped that their may be another way to gain VP cities without straining my forces on the strong French. Then it hit me, beforehand in my quarrels with France they took Frankfurt back off me then Austria managed to take it with little units in a fluke and for some reason it gave more VP points the many of the other locations.

So I had found my "Holy Grail", not sure of the consequences I waged war on Austria with the help of the French in an edgy military alliance between us. To my dismay its like as if the French still had a grudge and did not put many units into battle against the Austrians leaving me to defend my long and VERY unguarded long stretch of conquered cities from Russia.

I got Frankfurt but lost a more major point, Konigsberg. They cut me straight down the middle disconnecting my empire with 5 turns to go. They proceeded to gang up against me with ALL! nations declaring war and trying to hold me out from the win with no concern of France's close trail.

In the end I just managed to hold out but after the official turns were over they relentlessly tore me to pieces from every end! Even the Ottomans had their own pick from South East and gave me hell.

An absolutely awesome scenario which really tested me...
