Most men ever gotten together
Whats the biggest crew anyone ever had? I had 2 large frigates, and a ship of the line once. It had about 750 people. I used to to sack all of Cuba. The problem was I had to sink a frigate, to kill off some men, since I could never keep enough food. I actually wanted over a thousand men initially, but I couldn't get enough in the area I was in.

With enough money you do not need to feed them.

Need much more money.
For an example. Fire up a trainer. Give your self 2 million in gold. Set your crew to whatever. Kill off all the specialists. How long will the crew remain very happy? |

Yeah, well with a trainer, but I didn't have that much gold. I had a few hundred thousand, and they were still getting pissed..

Yeah, the hardest part isn't getting enough men. You can get a lot of people in large cities which are powerful (but mostly they have to trust you). The hardest part is Getting enough gold.
I think the most I've ever had for a short time was like 500 on two warships.

The most I ever had was 350, or there abouts. I had to divide the plunder though, becuase I couldn't keep those scurvy dogs happy. Arr.

Try getting the maps for Montalban's Hideout and a hidden city, travel to Campeche or somewhere else close. Divide the plunder, then pick up the 150K with a new crew. Proceed to the big towns for hardcore recruiting.

350 for my large frigate. I did not find having too many crew useful.

I just did that...divide up plunder, find Montalban and a Maya treasure. So I went to recruit pirates. Got up to 700. Installing new governors and getting duke status for all four countries was easy then. Got some cash in the process.
