Ok so here is what FINALLY worked for me. If you go to the actual folder with the civassist.exe file in it and select the properties there (as opposed to the start menu) you can get the compatibility option to run the program in XP or as administrator...now I have a civassist window open
From here I'll work out the saves issue. This seems obvious in hindsight but for others who may be having issues there is what worked for me.

Civassist doesn't take into account accelerated production setting, which makes much of its information under such setting wrong.
If it can't be made to detect such a setting, would you please add a manual accelerated production setting/option so its information can be correct under that? |

Is there a way to estimate the possibility of enemy civs cities flipping to you?

and i receive the message 'Unknown Save File Version. Please ensure that your copy of Civ/PTW/C3C is updated to the latest version.'Might be worth to mention that i have problems with this patch, the date is all messed up (instead of 400BC i get 'nov',or 'Veii founded nov' and so on),and the main page of conquests is messed up as well (instead of 'new game' it says 'play barricade' )..

How are the civ colours determined in CA2? I'm asking this because I've changed them in conquests.biq, and CA2 doesn't match the current colours for any civ. Perhaps there could be a feature for this (selecting the colour you want, or matching the .bi{c,x,q} colours, something like these) in the future? Thanks.

Complete comes with vanilla, PTW and Conquests all fully patched. If you try to install a patch over the already patched games, it can cause various problems with the game...strange messages, etc. If that's what happened, I can only suggest uninstalling everything and then doing a fresh install to get rid of the unneeded patch. Then be sure you have .net framework 1.1, and then install CA2. Good luck!

I hope ainwood hasn't given up on his program.
I've been having another very serious problem with the program. Seems to suck memory or something. With it running at the same time as the game it doesn't take long for it to lock up, I think from lack of resources(I think memory) Maybe its just not meant to work on win98? |

At risk of being called a thread necromancer
I have decided to ask this question. Is there any way this utility can notice when an AI has gpt to trade? If not, then is there a way to make it do so? (by re-writing, or something?) If so, then I also hope Ainwood hasn't forgotten about this otherwise extremely useful utility!!

@ Truepurple, I had similar problems with larger than standard map sizes in win98...but it ran fine on standaed map sizes Pent3 500mHz running maybe 500 meg of RAM (unsure on that number)
@Sercer88 Look in the report tab it will alert you when the AI has a lot of gold to trade. |

I know that. But I'm talking about gold per turn.

Problem
When I try to run the program, it generates an error message:
Process id=0xd38 (3384), Thread id=c24 (3108). I'm running on Vista, with .Net 1.1. Any suggestions? Edit: I figured it out. I just needed to run the program as an administrator. Last edited by Aunguna; Oct 07, 2007 at 12:32 PM. |

Has everyone ever though of porting CivAssist 2 to the Mac? For example, by first translating it to Java?

Why would you want to translate it? .Net runs on the MAC. The only issue is that some calls are made directly to the Windows OS, which a translation wouldn't solve anyway.

To make CivAssist 2 work on a Mac.
I didn't know that. Quote:
Now the fact that .Net runs on the MAC appears to make the problem considerably easier; we only have to take care of (3). How difficult would that be?
