Create New Civs?!

That is sweet.

Quote:
Sid Meier's Civilization IV offersthe most fun, addictive and visually exciting Civ experience ever. In addition to faster mid- and late-game AI turns, as well as vastly improved graphics and audio, Civilization IV offers greater control over your civilization's government and religions, while at the same time de-emphasizing the less fun portions of the earlier games (cleaning up pollution, for example). Further, Civilization IV has been designed from the ground-up to deliver fantastic multiplayer gaming options, as well as easy modding - allowing you to create new units, game maps, scenarios, and even entire new civilizations!
It won't matter so much, about which ones are in...to a a point.

If i'm reading this right, by the end, we'll be sure to see modders creating Every Empire and Civ ever.......*drools*

=)

You can create new civs in Civ 3 too but you have to then replace some existing civ with it. Check out the creation and customization forum.

Maybe this means there will be an easy way to create new civs without replacing existing ones. Maybe there will even be an easy way to export to / import from a separate file that can be easily shared.

You dont have to replace civs if you just create it and run it out of scenerio with basic start up just more civs

Same thing in Civ 2 with the Tribe editor.

The problem isn't adding new civs, its when you reach a limit. In Civ3, you can only have 31 civs. By the time they got to Civ3: Conquests, they used them all up so you can only replace new ones. They need to dramatically increase the number (hopefully so its inifinite) in order for everyone to be happy.

Well, since they're releasing the source code (kinda) I don't think a civilization cap will be a problem anymore.

Changing the cities names?

You can do that easily.....you input the names of the cities that the civ has....

or do you mean something else.

Either way there's no problem in adding a huge amount of civs in the game....using them all at the same time, is a different issue. ;p
