I have been working lately on Huge map, Emperor difficulty milk runs. I have abandoned a couple. One I played into the mid-1300's. It was an Archipelago map with a dom limit of 4369. I started out strong but didn't start capturing territory soon enough. Added to that I had difficulties with happiness on the many small continents. When I checked my scoring trend I realized I could place on the HoF table but nowhere near the top. I posted my Huge Monarch game that was in the bottom half of it's chart mostly because it would improve my worst quartile. For this one, I want to do the best I can.

My current attempt is Pangaea. I am trying Maya against Seafaring and Expansionist Civs, no scientific civs. (Dutch, Arabs, Spain, Portugal, Carthage, America, England, and Hittites). 60%, Normal, Wet, 5Bil yr. Barbs off. (The other was the same except for map type and Temp was Temperate.)

The Competition:

The abandoned Archipelago game:

As you can see my progress had really flattened in comparison with Svar and Moonsinger. I might have been able to make some of it up but no way would I be able to catch Svar's game.

The current game:

Edit: Replaced graph with one showing only current game and that is more compariable with other graph.

This one still has potential. I have been struggling through lots of jungle. I am researching Metallurgy now and expect to get Mil. Tradition in less that 20 turns. (Slow research but the best I can do.) I have taken out two other civs and just about ready to start on the 3rd. They have fuedulism but no iron. This should be fun.

More later.

Very interesting! As you might know I'm currently playing a Emperor Histo game too. :) To my delight your graph shows that game is at par with Moonsingers'. Of course it would even be better when it was a bit nearer to Svars', the ultimate target.

How do you create these wonderful graphs? Some hidden feature of CrpMapStat? Tell me how to do it, and I'll post my current progress... :)

Ctrl-C in CRpViewer (v2.11.0) to copy the data to the clipboard, then paste into a spreadsheet program

I guess I was a little tired when I did the second graph. It showed both games but the scale and some of the colors made it a little unclear. I replaced it with one showing only the current game and using the same scale. You can see the I am very close to Svar trend.

This is a modified verision of the original graph that only shows the current game. The smaller time scale shows how much work I have to do to catch Svar. :)

Asked and answered... It will be interesting to compare our progress. I have attached a comma delimited file with the data from my graph.

It's good to see all this activity on Emperor. The Histographic scores have long been undervalued at this level.

Indeed, also because I used a Archi map. So slower initial progress versus more territory to work with in the second half of the game. The current wisdom is that it is early territory gain that counts heaviest in the end-score. We'll see.

edit: Thinking about it some more made me wonder: you need a .crp file of the save to use CRPViewer, don't you? How can I create one?

Good luck, Denniz!:) I just want to say that I'm really proud of my Emperor game (the one that you are currently comparing to). Even though it is currently at third place, I'm still very proud of it. Why? Because I won that game fair and square and didn't use any type of exploits or unfair trading tricks.

CRpViewer can open either .sav or .crp files, so no need to do anything special

Yes, I just paste those data into Excell and pick out any column I want to graph. A really big hug and thank to Dianthus for providing the cut/paste data in the first place.:)

Thanks. So far, I haven't used any of those tricks, not that I plan to. My rep is still good, too. (No broken deals, etc.) I do plan on using communisum, though. I don't know if you would include that in the your list or not.

One of the reasons I switched back to pangaea was the wonders like Pyramids that only affect their continent.

Of course, I don't have the pyramids yet. My current victom built them for me, but I have had to work my way through some obstacles first. ;) I do have Sun's and the Temple. Free barracks everywhere for the rest of the game and having my borders expanded for free during the early part of the game... priceless. :D

Please feel free to use any tricks that you like.:) If you like to use communism, go for it! As for me, I have never used communism in my entire life (never did and never will). In fact, I really despite communism and no matter how they may have changed recently, I will never side with them. In real life, a certain communist government murdered someone I love dearly...that may explain why I don't want to have anything to do with them.

I hand-built an amazing number of Wonders this game, I had the worst time conquering the Pyramids in my Regent milk game  ...so I don't rely on the AI no more. Maybe when I move up to Demigod I can't afford to build them anymore.

if you plot
((score*turn_number) - (score_last_turn * (turn_number-1)))/difficulty_level

then you get the plot for 2*happy+content+specialists+territory

since you also have the territory in number, you can subtract that and see how much score you get from happiness..

It seems that you're all doing very well above my curve.:goodjob: Btw, who is snow666?
