RNG, Will you marry me?

The RNG has been a goddess to me, I dont have a screenshot, but, in the 1800's BC, the RNG gave a leader from my Archer, and then, my Spearman(regular) attacked a Warrior(Veteran) and my spearman got redlined as the tides changed for the better , I won the battle and my spearman got upgraded, oh thank you RNG.

It had to happen one day. Isnt it nice to here for a change that the beast known as RNG does have a benevolant side. But the RNG is a fickle being so beware.

I once had a nearly ungodly amount of lucky strikes when my small scurrying band of spears and archers came under onslaught of a horde of Iro MWs. The battles lasted for several turns but I won several more on the defensive than I really should have. It stands now as one of the greatest military achievements I have made. (And I haven't made many!!)

Good thread! People focus too much on the bad side of the RNG...

I once had 3 leaders from appear about 15 combats

Long live the RNG!

I've lately been taken to calling it the Random Number God, as opposed to the Random Number Generator.

Not without cracking the code, which Firaxis probably wouldn't appreciate.

However, you're supposed to have some serious modding tools for Civ4, so you'll probably have to wait until then.

I am having great RNG luck lately. I landed on a continent during an AWM game, and I got a leader a few turns later. Then a few turns after that, I got two leaders from two consecutive elite battles

To be fair i do fairly well on the amount of SGL i get in the game. But certainly not nough to justify some of the results i keep getting in battles. O well its a start.

Beat this, as Mongolia, I researched BW first and got a SGL. It was about 3000BC. I got Masonry and rushed the pyramids.

Ive gotten a Military GL from taking out barbs with a warrior to get it elite and attack a capital (Delhi) which was guarded by a regular warrior. Took the city, defeated the Indians and Had myself a soon to be rushed wonder in my capital. (It was PTW and it was Aztecs with the UU. I had a very early desp. GA, but i traded it for one less enemy.)

In my current game, I had four vet swordsmen attack four reg spearman fortified in a size 3 city (no river). Two won flawlessly, one only lost 1 life, and the last died flawlessly and promoted the spear. The next turn, one of the full health swords took out the newly-vet spear, only losing two life.

That's pretty good RnG for me, considering I didn't have enough artillery (2 cats, both failed both times)

My awesome RNG luck:

On turn 2 of a Deity game, I popped a settler from a hut.

In another game, I got a unit to elite in fights against barbarians. Then on the very first attack of my very first war: MGL.

In the Master of Myrror mod, I got an SGL from the first tech I researched. I had the wonder that's just like the pyramids on the next turn.

In the same game: vet MDI kills vet infantry on hill
13 cavs vs vet inf => I lost 10 cavs and inf loses no hp
Next attack: the reg cav kills the elite inf!!!

I just finished a game as the Byzantines, (same one I mentioned above), and while attacking the Mongols, I got 4 MGL while attacking 4 cities

This current RnR game I'm playing, I've had a SGL just about every turn in the game. Got my first one early, built Stonehenge. Got another one about 10 turns later. Got another one on my next tech. I've always had at least two SGLs the whole game, until recently. I was able to get the wonders I wanted without using the SGLs, so I was constantly saying "I'll save it for this wonder..." and didn't need it. Finally, I just started using them.

Sometimes the RNG likes you, sometimes not. Gotta make those sacrifices to it tho!

I find myself yelling at the RNG often, but worshiping it just as often. The RNG is indeed very Random.
