Wow! That's a long list! But shouldn't this be in the City List Library?

Nice list, it might be worth noting that the Æ ligature was rarely, if ever, used in Roman times. The letters in a diphthong were always written separately. The conjoined AE symbol is a relatively modern invention used in medieval and sometimes modern Latin.

"Forum Lulii" should be "Forum Julii". Or "Forum Iulii" - you're inconsistent between 'i' and 'j' for the consonant.

"Néropolis" should lose the accent.

...what he's talking about is correct spelling.... Forum Iulii is correct (modern day Fréjus), Forum Lulii is incorrect, as are a few others on your list. You can't believe everything simply because it's been printed on "an old map".

If someone doesn't say something, how do you learn about it in the first place?

Forum Iulii - Place of the family called Iulius. That would be correct (if you want to believe a historian). Founded by Gaius Iulius Caesar.

Well you missed out at least one town:

Virunum

and another one

Iulium Carnicum

and I am sure about a few 1000 more

And regarding the spelling of Forum Iulii or Forum Julii, the guys are correct you are inconsistent at it. I think the correct spelling would be "Iulii".

Another thing is certain: There was never any place called Forum Lulii, well until you named it at least, hehe. And think about it, even the Romans and later the medieval Scholars made typos, though much less then we do.

There were at least two (and i guess several more) towns called Forum Iulii

One is todays "Cividale del Friuli" (northeastern Italy) and another (todays Frejus) was/is located on the Cote d´Azur.

And all those cities that are named Iulii or Iulium are basically founded by or in the name of Julius Caesar, which is no surprise for that period of time. I am sure everyone remembers the incredible number of towns called Alexandria, that were all founded by a certain guy from Macedonia .

Jeez what am I doing here, ......
