Iggy I feel llike the island should be wider for the sake of aesthetics, or possibly tilted to be more at an angle?

Colonisation is a world removed from Imperialism. Besides, South Asia would make for a boring game. WOOOOOO decades of nothing.

I don't think currents would allow for deposition of a wider island, and the 'angle' is probably at the mercy of the sea as well. Though depending on the type of island it is, either barrier or microcontinental in this case (or so it would seem). I think that the island shape presented is about the most acceptable, if you want to maintain some congruence with the flow of the Gulf Stream. I may be totally wrong, though.

WWII neslite? Count me in. A bit too pretty of a map for NESlite, perhaps, but it works. What will determine how a nation loses income?

Yes WW2! I think that the map should be altered to better model the Sudetenland.

Now are you keeping the alliances intact or will this be a 'clean slate' wwII?

Basically, my idea is that you have one big company/ organization/ whatever that deals with paranormal/supernatural/alien/ whatever crap. They receive missions, and then issue them out to teams to deal with them. Instead of having teams be made up of players and therefore probably make the NES go at a snail's pace, I'd have players take control of certain teams. Updates would be made up of reports on certain team's progress, what they find, who got ripped in half by a flying psychic squid, and other stuff like that.

Anyone interested? Don't know how soon I'd be able to start it, but it seems like an NES that I wouldn't have to dedicate too much time too, and it wouldn't require much time to play. Just tell your team to do whatever and you're all set. Multiple teams could be sent, leading to some amount of cooperation and planning however (as well as backstabbing and gloryhounding )
Wait, have I responded to this? It does sound like a great idea. (Just noticed it in my instaquote, unresponded.

I'd bring it up with bombshoo, but I think it looks quite good. It used to hug the coast a lot more, until we moved it and gave it some of that widening and rotation you mentioned.

I think clean slate might produce the most interesting NES, considering that it is an NESlite, though at this point I could go either way.

@Eltain, if I understand your question correctly, the answer is that EP is slightly more static than in most NESes. Complete annexation of your nation, a prolonged campaign of damage to your nation's infrastructure, extremely poor management, civil war, etc could all lead to decreases in EP though they wouldn't necessarily be as dramatic as they would otherwise be. By the same token good management, expansion of territories, or considerable investment in your nation's infrastructure could all lead to an increase in EP (if it was done so correctly).

@GamezRule, the Sudatenland is about as correctly-modeled as can be done with a Victoria 2 province map. I've been working on the removal of the province lines, though, so I might be able to do something to make it more accurate.

This game sounds a lot like HoI 2.5.

Stats would be minimal, stories would be encouraged, etc. If interest is expressed, there would be a pre-thread to post reservations. I at least want players for all the major players in the war. Suggestions to tweaks for the map, or stats, are more than welcome. I do plan on venturing into the Spanish Civil War and fixing the map accordingly.

Spoiler:

(thanks to Plexus for the base map)

Stats Example
United States of America
Republic: Franklin Roosevelt
Capital: Washington D.C.
Economic Power: 6/0
Army: 20 Infantry, 700 Armored
Navy: 80 Squadrons
Air Force: 800 Air Groups

1EP would by 10 Divisions/Groups/Squadrons of any type. Nation stats are at best derivative/basic at worst, completely arbitrary.

Or, failing that...

So many to chose from, so little time! If the situation arises where multiple people want one of the above, I am fine with bowing out and selecting one of the above four that isn't so coveted.
