EQNES: Red Alert Revisted Preview
Greetings from the Motherland. I am currently on vacation in Russia and in this experience I have had many revelations and insights on the meaning of life and NESing, though NESes are far more important. From this i give a preview of my new NES, based on same map and somewhat some plot as Warman's old Red Alert NES. However it has some damn good rules and a very good system which allows much freedom of action. Feel free to reserve any mentioned nation, with exception of USA and USSR and other World Countries.
The Plot: The year is 1945, the world has been more or less at peace for the past two years after the Chinese and Japanese concluded an uneasy peace after nearly a decade of war. In Europe Germany has recovered from the Depression under the rule of a new democracy and with support from other Europeon powers. Mussolini remains in control in Italy after successful wars with Eithiopia, Albania, and Greece, creating a new Europeon power to be reckoned with, however he has recently taken a more peaceful approach in previous years. Despite the peaceful loss of India, France and Britian continue to lead Europe in trade and hope to see neverending peace. However since the Great War some omens of future war have been apparent. In 1937 the Spainish Civil War devastated the Iberian penninsula, as the USSR and Italy supported opposing sides. In 1939 the peace was finally restored as a pro-communist Spain emerged under Soviet guidance. In the past 5 years the Soviet Union has continued to expand its influence by winning an unofficial war against Japan and annexing the Baltic states and parts of Finland and Romania. In 1944 things came to a head as British and French diplomats desperating tried to preserve Polish independence at the Warsaw Conference. Inevitably Poland was divided by germany, the Soviets and Czechslovakia. Now as rumors of communist plots in France, Britian, Italy, and Germany emerge, the nations of Europe must decide who to align with in the growing Red threat. Europeon Nations (descriptions to come tomorrow) United Kingdom- Parliamentary Monarchy. With the loss of India from the British Empire in the past year, the imperial days appear to be coming to a close. Headed now by Prime Minister Winston Churchill, the British government has begun to take a more active anti-Soviet roll in politics as the USSR grows in size and influence. The question is now if Britian is up to the task of stopping the Russian bear. France- Republic. France has never fully recovered from the Great Depression. Industry remains at an all time low and chaos caused by the Spainish Civil War have allowed the growth of a strong communist party in the Republic. Rumors of rebellion abound, will France be the scene of the next Europeon civil war? Norway- Paliamentary Monarchy. The Scandinavian countries have played a neutral role in Europeon politics since the Great War. After the Soviet annexation of Vippurri and other parts of Finland, the northern nations grow ever more worried about the Communist threat. Sweden- Paliamentary Monarchy. The Scandinavian countries have played a neutral role in Europeon politics since the Great War. After the Soviet annexation of Vippurri and other parts of Finland, the northern nations grow ever more worried about the Communist threat. Finland- Democracy. The Scandinavian countries have played a neutral role in Europeon politics since the Great War. After the Soviet annexation of Vippurri and other parts of Finland, the northern nations grow ever more worried about the Communist threat. Germany- Democracy. In the time after the Great War Germany has seen upheaval after upheaval, including an abortive coup in which the Nazi party, led by one Adolf Hitler failed and their leaders, including Hitler, were executed. With the establishment of a new successful democracy in 1942 and the apparent collapse of order in France, Germany appears to be Europe's first line of defense against the Soviet threat. Italy- Fascist Dictatorship. For over a decade Mussolini has successfully dominated politics in the Mediteranean and has won wars against Eithiopia, Albania, and Greece. This has gained Italy much territory and power, though whether the new Roman Empire can keep its hold on its colonies is less than apparent. Spain- Socialist Republic. Governed in an uneasy balance between communism in democracy, Spain is apparently undergoing a transformation into a communist state which may soon be the first of the Soviet allies. Many of the soldiers and politicians loyal to the Republic and not Stalin's puppets have since been purged and this country is now prepared to continue the march to achieve true communism. Portugal Romania Bulgaria Yugoslavia Turkey Czechslovakia Ireland Greece NPC Europeon nations Belguim Luxembourg Netherlands Swizterland Denmark World Nations (permanently NPC) United States of America- Democracy. The USA has since the Great War been isolationist and strictly against any intervention outside of the Western Hemisphere. This attitude has led to the decadence of the American armed forces (though still more advanced than other countries) and it seems unlikely that the Americans will ever change their reclusive nature. Soviet Union. Communist Dictatorship. For nearly 10 years the USSR has been expanding its influence across the world under the guidence of Stalin. As democracies scramble to halt the advance of communism, it seems unlikely that any Europeon nation can or will match Soviet might. China Japan Argentina Brazil India Commonwealth (army controlled by UK)

Claims the UK. I've been waiting for this for a long time, ever since Warman killed his Red Alert NES.
