I have come to the conclusion that my PC is official out of date for todays games. As such, I have ceased buying any new PC games until the day I save up enough money to buy a new PC, which should be after Thanksgiving in the US. System requirements are these from Amazon UK if anyone wants to know;
OS - Windows 2000/XP Processor - Intel Pentium 4 or equivalent 1.6 GHzMemory - 512MB RAM Hard Drive - 3.5GB DVD-ROM - 8 SPEED Video Card - 64MB with 1.1 Pixel Shader* Sound Card - DirectX 9.0c compatible DirectX - Version 9.0c Input - Keyboard, mouse *Black & White 2 requires a 64MB video card with 1.1 Pixel Shader support. Supported video cards: NVIDIA GeForce4 Ti series, GeForce FX series, GeForce 6200 or greater ATI Radeon 8500 or greater, ATI Radeon X300 or greater. DirectX 9.0c is included on this disc and may require the latest drivers for your video and sound card. Once I get a new PC, I'll try it out.

I bought Black and White 1 when it came out and it was the only time that i regretted buying a game. It was full of nice interface innovations but the gameplay was horrible in my opinion.
It looks like the sequel is a bit better but i won't get it before it hits the budget bin for 10.- if i am going to buy it at all. Plus my computer barely meets the requirements Leonel postet.

Dont dish B&W please,it was the only game where you can smite people who dont believe in you with a lightning bolt.Or grow a gigantic animal that can stomp on houses,eat villagers and throw big stones at them,not to mention fling 8 fireballs at the entire village.
And when a village really refuses to worship your godly presence,you can charge up a Megablast Extreme and then cast in the middle of a heretical village.Then zoom out a little and watch dozens of beautiful golden beams come down from the sky and when the first beam finally reaches the ground a massive blast ensues literally sending anything that was in the blasts radius sky high in hundreds of pieces.The other beams land too devastating the village.A moment of peace follows,the surviving villagers look around to see their village in smoldering ruins and their loved ones vaporised and blown to bits.As the moment of peace passes,the second wave begins with 2 times more beams than the first wave,utterly destroying what remains of the village and forever scarring the terrain with numerous craters. Damn now I got to install the game again.

Tutorials like that which explain every little thing really annoy me, as most of them are usually fairly obvious. Half the time I'm just sitting there and waiting for the tutorial to catch up.

I read a few reviews and it doesn't seem much is added to the game when compared to B&W1...
I don't mind too much about the plot/level of the original... it's the creature AI that amazed me. Is there anything new in that area? |

Man if you didn't have that creature to begin with in Black & White, it'd be a much awesomer game in my opinion. I'm supposed to be a God, not a petsitter! I don't have time to clean up poo and smack around some if it eats people.

The behaviour/AI of your creature in B&W1 depends a lot on WHICH ONE you choose.
If you choose one good at combat, it will be weak at learning. I still wonder about the creature AI in B&W2... the reviews I've read said nothing about it. Perhaps the reviewers have the same opinion about the creature in B&W1 as Leonel, and don't even bother to check it out in B&W2... |

I assume we're talking about Black and White 2 since that is the thread name...
And kcwong, check out lionheads(.com) forum and you'll see what most people think of the creature AI in B&W2....

Thanks for the tip, WildFire.
I went there and looked at a few stickied thread... mostly about the "DungeonKeeper" side of the game, or there're discussion about the creature AI but buried in the long thread. Then I found a long review post by Meppy... which answered my question. I can't believe they do that to the creature. LH is heading a different direction than I do.
