Very good, and not anti-German, which is a nice surprise.

however, it seems to tow the "official" line in terms of history, not mentioning any Soviet atrocities, and even going as far as saying the Soviets "aided" the Warsaw uprising.

Very nice, and informative as well.

Though pretty patriotic, just as nonconformist said. The Warsaw thing being the most glaring example. Oh, and no mention of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact or the war against Finland in 1939-40 either.

I also got the feeling that every creative move (even the unsuccessful stuff) on the Soviet part was explained in detail while the German offensive often was shown just as more territory being gobbled up, unclear exactly how.

True, but one thing it did show was the pure speed of the initial Blitzkrieg into the USSR, whereas reading a book wouln't quite have the same effect.
Ten minutes into the flash, (a month after Barbarossa) the Germans are 600km into Russia!

Wow. Not used to English sites referring to WWII as the Great (Patriotic, I suppose) War. Huge flash site.

I agree about 89% with you, NKVD. That was an awesome flash, and one of the best ever made! I will show that to any of the people who think that WWII was all about Americans coming in to save the day, and they can actually learn something! I've watched it many times, and still not tired of it, it's so cool!
