Loading Problems

Please help! Before, my civilization 3 was perfectly fine. But now is is not. My save games files won't load! This all started a week ago and I'm still trying to make my save games load!!!

it only worked once !!!!!!!!!

I first notice this problem when i was going to test a trainer. The computer freezes, I restart it, reinstall, uninstalled, deleted every of my hardwork (the save games) Deleted all the files in the directory ( inculding hidden files) and reinstall it again. But after my new game, (1100 AD) I saved it, tried to load it and it stops at 88%. At 57%, I can hear my hard disk making noise and it became silent. And after 10 minutes it suddenly load up to 88% and kept silent. I let it load for 8 hours but the next day it gets trapped at 88%!

what is going on????
Here's the basic rundown of my computer:
Pentium II 400 Mhz with MMX
128 Mb SD Ram
20 Gigabyte hard drive ( 9 Gigabytes still free )
Intel Graphic Card ( I don't know )
DVD Rom (CD drive)
Acer CDRW 4X4X32 ( another CD drive )
Win 98

If you are using the CDRW to run the CD, try flashing the bios so it can accept high-capactiy CD-ROM disks. (the Acer website should have info on doing this).

I had to flash the bios of my CDRW in order to make my copy of Civ3 work.

Hope this doesn't sound too technical.

It was working perfectly fine before. Loading was quick, game doesn't freezes and music wasn't choppy. I've tried everything to get it fixed now. I download every file for civ3 from gamecopyworld and reinstall it 10 times. But when loading the save games, it will stop at 57% or 60% or 88% and freezes in my face.

I'm getting sick of this. I've played till 1700 and the game freezes and music kept repeating a part it is playing. Ctrl-Alt-Delete did not help.

Did you install or download anything recently for any other program which may have caused this? SOmetimes programs change the config of you system to work for itself bu not for other programs. I've had a heck of a time with McCaffee VirusScan which totally interfere with so may of my programs.

I did tried to use a trainer from Xcheater.com ( did not work and loading freezes FOR THE FIRST TIME) and patch the game. ( Still did not work) And the whole uninstall reinstall process goes.
