Just can't get 1.16
I can't download the patch at home, it always gives me a timeout. I have downloaded at work, but have no zip disk to copy to home. Can't zip to Spanned floppies as file is already zip exe, so I have unzipped. Can rezip but won't unzip other end as DATA 1 and Data 2 are already zip files and i get an error message about I/O uncompressing data. I can copy data1 and all other files no problem, but I'm stuck with data2. It is too big, it must be zipped to spanned disks but is already a zip file. I can't unzip with winzip to rezip as it doesn't carry a winzip signature.
If this makes any sense and you have any ideas then please help. I forgot to add I can't e-mail it too myself, I just keep getting an undeliverable response. I doubt my home mailbox will fit a 7 MB file, and it would probably take more than an hour to download it anyway. ferenginar |

![]() Anyway, heres a solution to your problems. What you need is a download-manager. With such a program you can recover both from accidentally and deliberatally interrupted downloads. Either way the program just restart from the point your download was interupted, so you never more have to restart everything from the very beginning. Go to a shareware-site like http://www.5star-shareware.com and download/install such a program. Heres a direct-link: http://www.5star-shareware.com/Inter...Managers1.html The program is probably zipped (compressed). Good zip-programs you can find here: http://www.5star-shareware.com/Utili...tilities1.html Last edited by Ralf; Jan 04, 2002 at 10:31 AM. |

Your right about the speed, it usually hovers on the 4k per second but sometimes it might reach 12.
Thanks for the tip, it has worked, I now have my patch. ferenginar
