The error message I get says
DataIO operating System Error: CITY It only happened to me after I had played until about the end of the middle ages. Once (out of many attmpts), I was able to load the saved game overtop of a game already running, and my mobile units were all there, but my cities were all gone. I am an old Colonization fan with a guilty conscience, and was really enjoying getting some payback by playing as the Iroquois. I am also kind of new with modern gaming. I heard of one member of this forum who had a similar problem, and fixed it by installing a no CD patch. I went to gamecolony and tried to follow along, but I'm not sure if I installed the patch correctly. Do I put it in a Civ folder and run it from there? I'm also using xp and haven't installed any patches since installing the game. What need I do? Strange |

Are you using WinAce or some other extraction tool?

I used WinRare; the no CD patch showed up as a winRare archive once I downloaded it, but that may just be because it's the only compression software I've installed so far...Should I use WinAce? Is it easy to find?
thanks Strange |
