Espionage feature for religions
My "line of sight" feature, where you can see into enemy cities that have your religion, doesn't work for more than my main religion. That is, I don't get line of sight benefits from more than one religion. I have founded many and have shrines in the holy cities.
BTW: Isn't the Income Advisor a bit vague? I would like to have seen a better breakdown of the categories like in previous Civs and the rollovers are not that detailed. I would like to see how much mony I'm making from my holy shrines. Disclaimer: I'm not a religious nut, I just wanted to try out the new stuff in the game and I like the religion feature. The stores out here just got the game in Fri and I have been playing at Epic (is there anyone out there who isn't?), so I don't have the range of experience as the rest of you. |

Apparently it only works if the religion in question is your state religion. I played with Hinduism as my state religion, but had also founded Christianity and Judaism (OK, I set the difficulty down for my first game). I could see foreign Hindu cities, but not Christian or Jewish ones -- same before and after I built the Hindu and Christian shrines. Then I switched to "No state religion" and my line of sight on the Hindu cities went away as well.

I just build the special building of the religion in question in the city where it was founded and then you can see all cities Line of Sight..but of course, religions are founded in different cities, build their special building there(its in the city production queue at the end) and you can see those cities Line of Sight too

The phenomenon described by Beorhtwulf is exactly what I am getting (I'm almost to Free Religion, so I'll see what happens then), but I am unclear on MrGenie's explanation.
So what I walk away with is this: It's not a bug it's a feature; more a problem with the vague manual (again) than with a lacking program. Thanks. |
