Civ3 not responding....help!
Just reached the modern era, all is well, sitting comfortably with as the Chinese when boom!!
The game goes into a busy mode, and nothing happens... nothing at all... On pressing ctrl alt del it tells me that civ3 is not responding and so eventually i have to exit the game... on reloading and retrying the same thing happens, arrrgh ![]() Attached is the saved game, can anyone offer any help... If not, then the developers need to seriously look into this... ![]() Thanks in advance DOC |

Were you using any sort of mod?
If there was a unit added in a mad, but some of the files are missing, the game will crash when you or one of the AI civs tries to build that unit.

I downloaded your saved game and tried it (on a couple different machines and versions). The game continued normally when I ended the turn. I played it until I reached the Modern Era and the game ran normally. It does take a long time for the AI to complete it's turns so it might be that you are just not waiting long enough.
As a side note, Windows® will often claim that Civ3 is "not responding" because when it is busy, it does not process messages from the operating system. This is normal.
