Isabella the bloodthirsty

This is the story of a proud and vicious ruler of an as of yet unknown (ie. random civ selection) civilization.

The small clan ruled by Isabella finds itself in a rather comfortable Ocean front paradise, it's hard to imagine such a lovely place could spawn such an iron fisted ruthless leader.

By 3400BC the starting location was already looking rather cramped, with the Chinese having started on a small peninsula to my southwest, and the Germans very closeby to my northwest. With things so tight, the raging barbs weren't likely to affect me at all. Having a nice inland lake for some food and commerce, I rushed straight for Buddhism and got it! With the path of Buddhism Isabella then set out to learn the secrets of agriculture to take advantage of the rice in the north. While researching agriculture a tribal village taught these people the secrets of hunting.

After many more years, an exploring warrior came across a tribal village that taught him the secrets of Kung Fu!

A lion had been hiding in the woods in wait for just such an opportunity, however and much to the warriors dismay, he found out how weak his skill in the arts of Kung Fu were, perhaps more years of perfecting the skill would have allowed him to make it back to Isabella to teach the lost arts to the rest of the tribe.

Surrounded and pinned back on the far eastern shores of the continent, with stretches of inhospitable desert directly to the north and jungles to west Isabella decided to lay an ambush for her neighbor Bismark to steal his first worker rather than expend the resources to commision her own and directly begin work on convincing a group of her most trusted advisors to settle north of the Chinese to pin them on their peninsula. The rich deposit of gold southwest of Berlin would likely be a high priority for improvements and would also give him a powerful research boost, which would be good to delay his aquisition of for as long as possible. Simultaneously Qin Shi Huang of the Chinese would be blocking her in on this small piece of land unless she could beat him to settling his northern opening from his starting peninsula making this decision to forgo improving the land around Madrid that much easier. She decided it would be a priority to research the arts of war, with aggresive AI's so close by and a tight starting area fighting would be inevitable to carve out and hold enough area to start an empire.

Sure enough in the year 3080BC Bismark fell into the trap and sent his worker to improve the gold deposits.

And so the struggle bewteen the people of Germania and the Spaniard begins, making many of Isabella's new found neighbors displeased at her audacity and unprovoked attack upon their friend the Germans.

Sailing needs to be researched soon in order to spread Buddhism before Asoka of the Indians can spread Hinduism to appease her neighbors anxiety and distrust. Although Bismark and Qin Shi Huang will need to be dispatched before making a priority of spreading the true faith. Meanwhile the stolen worker starts heading back towards Madrid when suddenly things go sour!

Hoping beyond hope, the lions are blind or sleeping Isabella's trusty worker hunkers down and prays to Buddha to save them. Buddha must be angry with the Spanish people for forsaking the cows to their north due to the inhospitable desert surrounding them and ignores their workers prayers and pleas for safety.

The Chinese will now start amassing a force to punch through and capture Barcelona as they can't get by without declaring war until they can learn the secrets of Sailing. Isabella however is determined to not give them the opportunity. Barcelona however is all but useless as a city surrounded as it is hemmed in all sides by jungle.

The known world in 2660BC is resource rich but tight and timing will be crucial as the Germans will be looking to settle in Spanish territory, likely in the hopes of blocking her off much as she had just done to the Chinese.

With Isabella's second group of advisors being convinced to go northwest to settle on hills by Berlin with Ivory. Seville is founded one turn before Bismark could settle the same location, forcing his settler back within the borders of Berlin.

Copper was found north of Madrid and has been since hooked up, Isabella has decided the war machine will now begin to turn, all production has been geared to churn out Archers and Axemen. The Germans and Chinese unbeknownst to them as of yet have been marked for extermination. Undoubtedly both are gearing for war as the surrounding lands are already begining to close in around us. Too small this area is, with Asoka already having settled directly north of Bismark and the Inca's (Isabella's only remaining neutral ally) also closing on Bismark's western borders, the expansion phase is nearly done! So soon it's hard to believe, Isabella might squeeze another city in between Madrid and Seville to take advanatge of the gold deposits and another to the north nestled in the desert, but time will tell how things go from here.
