Finally I found a stop-gap solution
Hi
This worked for me and my 6800 GT card. My game still crashes, but far less often. Open your Nvidia-manager and make a new game profile. Then set all options to manual and turn them off/set them to their lowest settings. Don't touch the settings in Civ IV. Use it as your standard profile and then launch the game. It's not perfect, but it'll do until the next patch, that hopefully irons out the critical bugs. rgds/EoE |
