Strategy Subforums by difficulty

I've been wondering why there aren't separate forums for different difficulty levels. It seems like a logical thing to do, considering the gap between players and strategies at the low levels and high levels.

I don't think a separate forum for each difficulty level would be helpful, but at least a forum for newer/low level players and one for players seeking high levels of challenge. This way they are general enough to warrant a wide discussion about major gameplay mechanics while still filtering analysis and suggestions into more useful buckets. As it stands now, players can't really go to one area for low level or high level tips, aside from a handful of threads that label themselves, and those tend to be one player listing a jumble of tips for the difficulty he just won on.

Maybe a poll could be done to determine where the bulk of players lie, so an even divide could be made. I'm guessing it's around between Prince and below and Monarch and up, but that's probably because I'm a Monarch and up player.

Maybe I'm just an elitist. Who knows. Has anyone given any thought to the significance this would have on the forums? Would anyone find this a time saver or more organized way to structure things rather than a giant strategy free for all?

I would predict that veteran players would still share their suggestions in a newer player forum, and since they'd be more aware of their audience they could be more effective. Newer players could post and receive discussion that was aimed at their current conception of mechanics. I wouldn't have to look past "I keep dropping to 0% on the science slider." Seems win-win from where I'm sitting.

TBH everyone would just visit both forums realistically so it strikes me as a bit pointless in dividing them

I don't think that's necessary. There is no clear distinction betweem strategy for lower levels or higher levels. Lots of strategies can be applied to all levels.

Strategies that work on lower levels don't always cut it higher levels. There isn't a clear line, but so what? There is a difference between what players use to win at Settler than Emeperor.

Visit, yes. Newer players posting their suggestions for the higher difficulties? No.

Veteran players posting their suggestions for the lower difficulties? Certainly.

Strategies such as these generally are made clear in the first post.
