Diplomatic victory impossible
Okay. I posted about this before, and I'm sorry for starting another thread but I couldn't find previous posts about the same subject. It's taken me a while to test this out a few times and make sure I wasn't doing something wrong.
In MP hotseat with 2 human players and several AI, standard world. Also happens on small world. All default options checked - including enable diplomatic victory. The bug is this: No matter how many votes the Sec Gen gets for the Diplomatic Victory, the game just continues as though nothing has happened. No victory is awarded. Similarly, no matter how many votes ANY resolution gets, the game records it as a failed resolution. I've attached a save of one of the games. |

The same for me!
The only difference is that the resolutions were recorded as passed. But, though I obtained more votes than requested in the final victory, the game continues, vithout any victory sign. I'm playing in MP with 2 human players on the same PC. The only way to win is the diplomatic one. Maybe there is some problem with the MP mode? |

v1.52 is the version being used.
i'm sorry, i should have remembered to add this before. the no-diplomacy-victory thing was happening before i installed the patch, as well. I am wondering if i should go buy another copy of the game. Do you guys think that would solve the problem? Is it just my cd, or is this a global thing?? I would like to know if there's anybody out there who's played 2-player hotseat and won via diplomacy??? Please??? - jacinta |

The bug seems to be that in hotseat all players that is before the general secretary on the list, dont get to vote till the next game turn..
all the votes done the next turn are counted as abstains. |

Yes, that's possible. Except that it records certain resolutions as successful- sometimes passed unanimously - and then the resolution has no effect.
I've had the time now to play several single-player games.... it's just hotseat that's the problem. Which is incredibly frustrating, because my family loves to play hotseat. Taking away diplomacy is a hard thing to live with.  Please Mr & Ms Firaxis, can you fix this bug in the next patch?? Pleeeeeeeeese???????? regards jjc |
