AI Aggression
Does the AI's aggression become altered by switching off space race and diplomatic victory options? All other things being equal, you'd expect it to calculate that resorting to violence is better.
Anyone any observations? |

As far as I know it doesn't. All of their agression is predetermined by civ, or by the agressive AI option.

I don't think so. I think their should unless for Montezuma. He's agressive enough.

It will have some impact in the later game I think. The AI does try to win if it thinks it has any chance at all, and if space race and diplomatic are off then conquest is the most likely route for them to take.

You'd have to switch time and cultural victories off as well for a forced military victory. Then the AIs would probably be more agressive, aiming for domination if not conquest.

As far as I know, victory conditions have no effect on AI behavior. At least nothing changes when disabling all conditions but Conquest and Domination the times I've tried it.
The only thing that changes AI "aggressiveness" is the custom game option, although they still won't try to win (just more likely to go to war if upset). |

I haven't tried the aggression option yet. Is the change really appreciable?
