Chaos SG
I have an idea of a SG that I think could be cool.
We play a quite normal game of civ, except: Each player has a set of variant rules that must be followed. For example, one player would be the warmonger, with rules something like this:The Warmonger must at the first turn of his turnset declare war on at least one AI civ. The warmonger can never make peace with anyone, and can never deny a request from an AI civ to join their war. On the contrary, one player could be the cowardly AI Pushover :At first turn, immediately make peace with all AI's, whatever the cost. (maybe except giving away self-built cities) The AI Pushover tries to befriend all AI's, especially the one's with the highest scores. He never denies any request or trade suggestion from the AI, but he can never go to war. Also, the AI Pushover can never build any millitary units. The Prankster This sneaky bastard must at the beginning of his turns immediately change at least one civic, change the build-orders in all cities and change the tech being researched. Also, he must leave a secret prank in the save for the next player. Maybe changing the name of All cities to cause utter confusion, or something much cooler, but not something totally destructive, like disbanding all units before the Warmonger's turn. NB: The Prankster is not on the rooster. He can jump in unexpected at any time by stealing the save and posting got it before the next player up does it The Religious fanatic could be a spot.I bet we could figure something cool out here. Or the mean, slavery loving , choprushing Tyrant who loves to punish his people and his land. Who never gives a way an oppertunity to pillage and starve enemy cities, and is all but beelining for nukes. Also, I think we could need at least one [ B]Cleaner[/B]:We will get in a lot of trouble because all of these stupid rules, probably plummeting down to scorelist, so this guy(s) does not have to follow any rules, but should try to play the game like a true strategist in order to help us win. Any suggestions for player variants (new or present) are most welcome. Is anyone interested? I don't care how good you are at civ (except maybe the cleaners, who should have some skill,) but enthusiasm, humour and an enjoyable turnlog are most welcome. ![]() Roster: Warmonger (Strauss) SG Breaker (sharog) Micromanager (pindicator) Tyrant (sharog) Pushover (minionJoe) Cleaner (Munterpipe) Automaton (Zalson) Religious Fanatic (chrth) And last but not least, the prankster (ruff hi) The roster might change and new spots may be available if we figure out some new cool player variants Last edited by Munterpipe; Feb 18, 2006 at 09:31 AM. |

Ok, put me down as the religious fanatic
... also, put me towards the end of the order, since religion isn't an immediate concern. And yes, I have ideas as to how to play the religious fanatic

Instead of the AI pushover, you should replace with the SG Breaker.
SG Breakers do the following: Never play the required 10 turns (will rarely play more but more often play less); Leave moves to be completed when they pass the game; Only declare war, peace, revolution or cancel trades on their last move before passing; Go against the suggestions of the group. The difference between the prankster and the sg breaker is the former is just having fun, while the latter is being a jerk. Some ideas for religious fanatic: Spread religions as much as possible Declare crusades against other religions Focus on religious techs and buildings

The SG Breaker is added. To take that spot you've gotta be a real jerk! Play your turns from the wrong save and stuff. Reloading countless times when popping a hut to get the best possible result. I'm NOT allowing the worldbuilder to the Breaker, but he does not seem to follow the rules all the time, does he?

Another couple of SG wackos for your collection:
The micro-manager believes that gameplay is far too important to be left in the hands of "governors" and therefore takes great delight in obsessively adjusting every city tile to reflect his vision of perfect order. Woe betide anyone who lets a city fall into unhappiness or unhealthiness, not matter what advantages this situation might offer. His excoriating tone, accusations of , and insistence upon debating the finer points of tile yield and improvement choice at every opportunity will wither the most experienced of SG players. Don't be suprised to find your cottages unexpectedly replaced by farms or your mines by windmills to satisfy his manic needs. On the other hand, the automaton believes that life is far too short to handle every decision personally, especially when the game's designers have included such comprehensive tools to tackle the daily grind. City governors must always be used, even to appoint specialists (who honestly wastes time selecting these?), and frequent use of "avoid growth" is de rigeur. Naturally, the latter is never mentioned to the rest of the team. However, his most endearing quality is his insistence on using the advisor popups and taking the technology recommendations as gospel. If the advisor believes a settler is needed in this city, then, by jove, the city will jolly well have a settler! Last but not least, workers must ALWAYS be set to full automation, and unit movement determined by goto orders - especially at the end of his turn. Build queues are another worthy timesaver that the next player will always appreciate.

We started allready? Who's up, what kind of map, what civ, what difficulty, why do we want to build our capital on the corn? Looks like chaos is on! The prankster is loose and since we don't have any other players yet, and I haven't found a spot for myself, the Religious Fanatic is UP. |

I'd be up for taking chop rushing tyrant. My people and their trees mean nothing to me. They will be whipped, chopped, drafted and sacrificed at my whim and fancy!
Seriously though, this will be fun if nothing else. |

Scowler, which spot do you want? I added the micromanager and automaton to the rooster. That's right! We've got a misspelled, cackling, pandemia-causing bird on our team

Ooooh, this sounds like fun. I might have to lurk, though - don't really have enough time for another SG.
