Never been able to....
Ive tried all the GOTM so far and havnt been able to play any of them. I have never altered my game in any way and am patched to current version ( get a message about custom assets or some such ).
I am one of those that had a lot of trouble getting the game to run initially ( radeon vid card issues ) but it has run fine since I got that sorted on the second day of release. So questions: Is reinstalling a possible way to fix things? If so will I need to jump through the hoops like I did the first time? Any help/ suggestions would be appreciated. |

speaking with very little knowledge of how it all works...lots of customassets issues I believe have been fixed simply by clearing your cache when restarting Civ4...I believe to do that you hold down either ctrl or shift while the game is on its first loading screen

If you've modified the assets in the folders, then this could cause problems. A reinstall (cleaning-out the \My documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 4\ folder before reinstalling) is a good option.
There is a problem with the assets protection password thing that causes problems, but we are hoping that this will be fixed in a patch (which surely can't be too far away!) But if you do a full reinstall & patch, you should be able to load this months' GOTM. |

Just to update ( Ive been to busy to try this last GOTM anyways ) I tried what Thrallia suggested before firing up the latest GOTM download and it seems to have worked. Thanks for the tip.
Looking forward to Aprils GOTM! |
